3.23 is a good compromise, I have that gear behind my 440, 2500rpm @ 65mph with 275/60/15. If you have the budget a gear vendors with a 4.1 rear will give you the same rpm as the 3.23'S in OD. Best of both worlds.

I agree that if you can budget the GV and 4.10s, it's perfect (it's my setup and I get 15-16 hwy mpg with a 600+ hp Hemi). But having said that ...

I'd talk to guys with 3.55s and 3.73s to see what their mileage is like, and I'd compromise mileage with "snap" with one of these ratios over a 3.23. Remember to look closely at the complete package of cam choice, stall rpm, and tire size. Search the DC site, there has been lots of very good threads in the past on the topic.

I would go with a suregrip 8 3/4 3.55 gear or 3.91.  :2thumbs:

For gas  mileage though as others have stated I guess a 3.23 makes snese but not enough low end grunt in my opinion!  :yesnod:

I just did the Power Tour with 4.10's and Gear Vendors overdrive. We are about 3000 rpm @ 70. I like the idea that I can put slicks on and maximize my drag strip times, but in reality this ratio is too low for street use with normal tires, and still spinning pretty good on the freeway. RPM isn't so much the issue as gas mileage, for me. I have another axle with 3.55's I'll use for tours in the future, and may well stay in the car permanently afterwards.
