I finally got the engine wired in my 69, I thought I could get the engine to turn over but I get nothing. I'm pretty sure its because I neglected to buy a console wiring harness and hook up my neutral safety switch. I have yet to buy this harness but I can't find info in any wiring diagram as to what this harness hooks up to. I know its the console lights and reverse/neutral safety switch, but dont know how it hooks up to the main wiring.

i'm prolly confused ( normaly am )   But

there is no neutral saftey switch wiring on the shifter / wires running to the console  in a  69  , well at least in the OEM set up  :shruggy:

Hm, I tries to post a picture of what I was talking about but I keep getting an error. There is a small switch mounted on the shifter bracket with 2 wires. When its in neutral it allows the car to start and when in gear I guess it grounds the starter relay so you can't start it. Also it activates the reverse lights when you shift in reverse.  I seen a new wire harness in the Classic Industries catalog #MB567 which has the light sockets for the sides of the console and also what appears to be what I need to attach to the switch. But from there I cant figure out what it's suppose to connect to..

The console wiring gets attached to a connector on the rear light harness - it is usually kicking it under the carpet or along the driver's side sill plate.

For the time being - you can bypass the switch just to get the car started
