I realize it's essentially new, but it's also essentially 26 years old and not exactly a collectible. What would be a fair price on something like this?

too many "9"s on that...

F-in car dealer thieves
1973 Charger : 440cid - 727 - 8.75/3.55

Now watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical,
      a liberal, oh fanatical, criminal.
Won't you sign up your name, we'd like to feel you're
acceptable, respectable, oh presentable, a vegetable!

I classify it as unique transportation.  But still just a used car.   $10-12K.

The guy who traded it in was the only potential winner here.  If he had nothing (inherited) or 1984 dollars,  in it, he could have driven the wheels off "for cheap".

The dealership probably gave a "no risk" $8K for it.

TK73

A dealer wouldn't give more than 2k, 3 IF they really screwed the guy on a new vehicle.  8k is insane and retailing it for 10k for it is further down the rabbit hole...

A real Mopar nut shouldn't give more than 5k...

PS, that dealership is whacked out on angel dust to be putting 30k on that ad...  F-in used car dealers  :fu:

FLY NAVY/Marine Corps or take the bus!

I certainly don't think they will get anything near their asking price :eyes:, I just can't put a number on it myself :shruggy:
They would probably do better raffling it off at some big Mopar show.

I disagree.  First, I don't think the dealer giving the guy eight to move another vehicle off the lot is whacked.  I bet he has a dozen brand new lead-sleds on that lot he's dying to lose.  Second, they could get it back any day of the week as just a used car.   Third, if they get lucky they will stab a fat pig on ebay.

Where are you going to buy a functional, nearly brand new, clean, pickup for $10-12k?  Plain-Jane new will cost $20K. :Twocents:

If it was a W-250 it would be worth 15k.   :Twocents:

asking ------- + ------ getting .

2 VERY different things

Yes, it's basically unusable. No matter what someone pays it's going to be too much for what it really is. They are trying to sell the collectability but it's not much of a collectible, and yet if you use it for its intended purpose the only thing special about it is no longer going to be special. And when you can get a new 4WD Quad Cab Ram for about the same price?

NGC414

They should just put it up with no reserve and see what its worth. I would guess around 9-10k to the right buyer. No way it could get near 30k IMHO.

daveco

I think this will be one of those vehicles that languishes for months, or even years, waiting for the mythical "right buyer".
It's just too sedate to generate any real interest. Like Pocket Thunder said, had it been a 4WD (or even a D250) things might be different.
