440 oil galley plugs

Regarding the oil galley plugs for a 440, first they appear to be a 3/8 plug. Is this the actual size? Also do I need any sort of special plug or just any type of pipe plug?

I think they 3/8 National Pipe Thread plugs . Bigger across than 3/8 inch. Most are the hex key style ,rather then the square drive style used in plumbing.

If you you the chrome plated ones your engine will make more HP.
