the 400 in my 72 when I bought it had a hodgepodge of accessories bolted to the front of it, among those a leaky 60s thompson pump on a 'late' (low down, long bracket) style mount and an aftermarket non-clutch fan on the water pump. I've had a bear of a time trying to repair the thompson pump, so i decided to just swap in a saginaw with a set of 'early' (bolts directly to the water pump) brackets I had lying around. problem is, now the steering pump pulley doesn't line up with the water pump. there's a spare set of grooves on the crank pulley that will work, so do I need to try and find a water pump pulley with a different offset? picture is attached, sorry it's kind of dark but if you look close you can see all three v grooves that need to line up. thanks ahead of time for any input!
