I have an awful squeak coming the front of my 69 440 Magnum hp. I thought it was the water pump but after replacing that and the alternator and checking the power steering, no change has occurred in the squeak. It slowly begins 3-5 minutes after start up and sounds like a water pump bearing going bad. Harmonic balancer maybe?? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Eric

I assume the fan belts are aligned properly
does it squeek with the belts off ?

The belts look straight and if I losen them both up and run it it still squeaks. Someone told me harmanic balancers can go bad and squeak. I never heard of that though.

I assume you do not have a fan clutch.  Check for glazing on the fan belts.

Did you pull the belts off?  You might have a bad water pump.

good luck

Is it a squeak(chirp) or a squeal?
