I just figured out the posting pics thing.  So here we go.

First is a pic of my 69 rt r6 red 440 auto.  My dad bought it new, sold it when I was 3 years old.  I bought it back in 95.  It has 43,000 original miles, and all numbers match.  My dad was King of the hill (top driver at amber green dragway in Eau Claire Wi in 72)  with this car.  My mom raced it in powder puff, and took her share of trophy wins as well.  She was even racing when she was pregnant with me!!!

Here are some old school pics.  That is my dad, and I am the one with the hose.

You were lucky to get the car back. Cool pics.

Here is my 68 hemi charger.  I bought it with no engine or trans, but I had an engine and trans for it already.

69fuchs

I was lucky to get the 68 hemi car before they went nuts in price.  Here is a pic of the engine, while it was still in my old gtx.  I got the charger running in 03, and have been driving it (and racing it) in the good weather seasons.

Thats a cool story! My mom had a 70 Charger R/T SE, when I was a kid! She didn't race it,but I did, when I was in high school! It never lost! I was 6 years old when she bought hers!

Great story and pics.  I love the R6 with white interior and stripe. It is nice you got your dad's old car back. I am still on the lookout for my dad's '71 GTX 440 4 speed in Gunmetal grey. He sold it when I was born.  :P

BTW: I plan to get to the West Salem show next year...maybe I will see you there.

very cool! you are a lucky man, hang on to that 69 car, i hope you have a son or daughter you can give it to some day.

My dad owned a '70 R/T when he was around 20 or so. He sold it just after I was born although I can say my first car ride was in a '70 R/T. He later sold it for less than $1000 back in '83/'84. It then did a cannonball race across the U.S. where it eventually made it back to BC and started racing in Kelowna. Supposedly it's still racing around the track there still painted hot pick. The car was originally Plum Crazy purple, 440 magnum, vinyl top, and a pistol grip 4spd.

Thanks.  Yes, I have a daughter that will get the 69.

Here is my son's 70 charger.  It is a 383 plumb crazy car, not numbers matching engine or trans.  We are converting it to a 4 speed, and doing an r/t clone.  That is my daughter in the second pic.

Nice Cars....and great history behind them. Cool that you're gonna pass them on to your kids.

Yes, rock falls is the old amber green.  I race there from time to time, but it is very busy there.  I go to have fun, and it seems like it is all business for a lot of the racers there.  I like earlville Ia better.  It is called tri-state raceway.  Both of the dragstrips are 130 miles from my house, so it is a horse a piece for me!!!

This is my trak pak car. I bought it for $150.00 in 1988.  It is a mess, but I will fix it someday....It has nos front fenders, and a mint replacement grille!!! It doesn't have much else going for it, the original engine/trans are gone, but It does have a fender tag, 054 radiator, and there is a dana under it.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

The car ran in E stock automatic, the mods were a ch4b intake, an isky hyd. cam, adjustable rockers, cc'd heads, hooker fenderwell headers, a 2800 stall converter, a manual shift plate in the valvebody (from the mopar bible), 4.56 gears, and slicks.  All of the mods were done in the first year of the cars life.  My dad attended the sox and martin tech school many times, and the mods came from buddy martin.  The car ran 13.02 @ 106.5 on its best day, Which was considered pretty fast in 1970.

When the car was stock, it ran 13.90 on its first trip to the track.  It had cut outs on the exhaust and slicks. No other mods, and that was with 3.23 gears!

This was my dads everyday driver at the time, and he was a salesman on the road with this car, so he couldn't get to radical with the mods.

Wow, look at that yard full of trophies! :o That's pretty cool!

That's pretty cool that you were able to get that car & that your parents were into all that back then...mine sure weren't. :-\
Is your Dad still around?

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)
