Hi All,

I'm in the wonderful process if installing my Hedman Elite headers, and I'm wondering how many people out there install studs in all the holes, so one doesent need to deal with coolent issues when changing gaskets, but they present another issue, they interfear with installing, that is what i did. Or do most of you put them in, use bolts, then drain the coolent when/if a gasket change is needed.

Thanks!!

Studs studs studs

I have fine-thread studs with aircraft locknuts, and I've never had one come loose. They are a little more hassle when changing gaskets, but since they don't come loose you don't need gaskets as much. I'm trying a set of Remflex gaskets on this build; http://catalog.remflex.com/ I expect they will never leak and last forever.  :o
Before I installed my engine (the other engine, in 1982) I installed the studs, gaskets, headers and nuts then cut the studs off with an air grinder and cutoff wheel so the studs are only as long as they need to be. That is the only way I could get the headers in and out without moving the engine much.
