spark plug wire question

I recently had some issues with my car having no ignition spark so I had to test a bunch of stuff. one of the things I tested was a couple of the plug wires. I used an ohmeter and would have thought that if the wires were good I would have had a reading of 0.00 how ever both wire read 1.26  Is this correct?
