Look what an ugly duckling the camaro concept is.   The new challenger will kill the camaro off for good if this is what its going to look like.Even the camaro guys at camaroz28.com like the challenger better.

It's better than the Creeder by far, and if DCX UGLIFIES the Challenger like they did the '99 Charger concept then I'd probably take a look at it... The front grille is strange, but overall it's not THAT bad...

They need to redo the front end, otherwise I kind like it.

Yea I guess its the grille. And whats up with these type of rims? Looks like the camaro and challenger designers got them from the same place. Some big fat torque thrusts would be nice.I wouldnt sell/trade in my 2000 z28 to get that camaro but I would for the challenger.

Kind of retro and kind of edgy too.   Not what I think of as a pony car but GM has been plying the waters with a broken rudder as far as styling goes for a few years now.   Why is the whole industry hung up on the fat bloated look?   I think I almost like the jelly bean look better.
I guess the positive would be that at least the designers are trying to find something new.   The Camaro may suffer the same problem as another storied nameplate in that they ceased production and then came out with something radically different as opposed to a natural evolution (or devolution?).

Let DCX handle that project, they'll fix it up a bit so it'll sell:

1973 Charger : 440cid - 727 - 8.75/3.55

Now watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical,

Won't you sign up your name, we'd like to feel you're

The front end needs work. :P

Either way tho, if GM makes that they'll sell thousands and thousands of them. :yesnod:

I agree on the front end, but the cowl hood looks good. I bet the mirrors will have to be much larger to pass DOT.

It looks ok, maybe even good...but it doesn't hold a candle to the Challenger, or even the Mustang.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

That thing looks like it has some of the new Challenger concept car, the Chyrsler Crossfire, and a hint of the new Mustang.  Back to the drawing board if I were them.

is_it_EVER_done?

Like the 70 E-bodies weren't designed to emulate the Camaro? Makes me wonder if DCX didn't have a spy in the GM design studios. That would at least explain the extreme corporate turn around on 2-doors and retro.

TruckDriver

The site I found this pic on said that GM people are saying that we won't see a rear wheel drive Chevy car again for sometime. The '06 Monte Carlo has a V8, but it still front drive.  ::)

I like it and I think it's great to have the automakers thinking true retro like this. I must say that the Challenger is the hottest one Ive seen though and will buy it if they release it pretty much as is. Im not holding my breath though.

I would like to see a AAR/TA rear spoiler on it though.  :yesnod:

Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I'm pretty sure we saw drawings of the Camaro concept LOOOONG before the Challenger concept was even known about. In fact, I believe they were floating around when the Creeder pencil sketch catastrophe hit the internet. I can see being brand loyal, but I think saying that GM copied their ideas from the Challenger is a little far fetched. Also, if you really think this concept is ugly, I might have to question your taste. IMO this actually has some really nice lines reminiscent of the '69 Camaro. Personally I think the grille is too pointed and if they just brought the headlights out forward more and had only a slight point in the center, this design is ready for market, and as already stated WILL sell thousands upon thousands.

The Musclecar WARS are back kids....go buy your favorite flavor and join in!!!!!

BTW: I STILL think the Challenger concept needs work...the lower opening on the front valence needs to look more agressive (maybe turned down)....right now it looks like a Raggedy Ann smile..

I agree Bill and I think the same thing could be said about the 70 E-bodies.

What part do you mean could be said about the 70 E-bodies?...sorry, I'm a little slow today.

That they bear more than a slight resemblance to the Camaro which came out three years prior.

shouldn't this be off topic with the other camaro stuff?.. :yesnod:
