Junk Yard Score!

This morning I went to the junk yard and scored the crome trim that goes aroound the full vinal top off a 72 charger only $30. now i'll have to go back and make some mesurments to drill the holes in my 73.

will that work?  I mean, the quater window is different between the two and the trim follows the 72 style window?  just a thought

I took the vinyl top off my 73 and still have the trim laying around somewhere.  If you can't get the 72 stuff to work, let me know.

71/72 rear section of full vinyl top ( from corner to corner ) is the same than 73/74

The trim that runs from rear corner up to quarter window is the same length that 73/74 body lenght becasue of course from that rear corner trim up to door is the same lenght between all 3rd gens. The difference could it be the Shape or "curvature" since the quarter window opening is a round an inch and a half taller on 71/72. Maybe trim is a little bit shorter because that trim meets and hooks with the 71/72 trim around quarter window.

Anyway, since you would need to match somehow that trim with the "boomerang" one of 73/74. then will need to be cut up to the point you ant to meet both. Same if is on a SE you want to install.

and I'M AGREE... 71/72 full vinyl top looks a lot better than 73/74 Halo kind and also SEs
