i was just wondering what your better half think about your charger and you spending time and money on it?luckly mine loves it but she is one in a trlillion:)

Charger-Bodie

My wife is fine with it unless I take advantage of the situation . She is glad that its pretty well finished now though. I consider myself blessed.
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

440

Mine is pretty cool, she's into cars too, but she's getting a bit grumpy I'm spending money on my Charger.

charger Downunder

My wife is fine with the charger a matter of a fact she has never been inside it, come to think of it she has never touched it and we have been together since 1993 and i have had the charger since 1982.

RECHRGD

My wife enjoys the cruising and all the thumbs up from people.  She dosent like it when I leave her alone in the car while I run into a store and she has to field all the questions and comments from people.

My wife wouldnt let me take the engine apart unless she was there helping. She even has her own mechanix gloves! And on top of that she will get into an engine compartment with a tooth brush and some engine bright and get cleaning!!! Its so damn cute with all the grease all over her  :icon_smile_big: Im a lucky SOB!  :nana:

Oh boy don't talk to me about that..... When we talk about my hobby and cars she says NO even before I finish talking. She has only one hobby, her work and considers everything else expensive waste of time.
When I fix the daily driver though for 1/10 of the cost a shop would bill me, then shes not complaining.......
But most of the time she's not bothered with it, better home in the shop than drunk in the pub I guess

RIDELIKEHELL

I had purchased the "bucket" just before we started dating and when she heard what kind of car it was she was interested. Then when we went to see it before the tear down she said you bought that :o

Now she can't wait to drive it...I mean RIDE in it :icon_smile_big:

funny-at first, she liked them, thought they were neat-but unnecessary, too much money spent on them (I really didn't but I can see how it would seem like it with the way things go out in these old cars little bit here and there), I needed to get rid of them if I was going to be a "responsible" dad, etc...

UNTIL SHE DROVE ONE.

Something must have made sense then that I just couldn't ever properly explain with words. Now she loves the crap out of them, always looking for a way to drive mine for errands or if we go out in it ("I want to drive there, may I?" "I want to drive back, may I?" etc) wants one of her own, dislikes hearing me say how I may potentially sell the current one. She has driven the cars I've had and the current one pretty carefully and I totally trust her with it.

She's come a long way, she can proudly break down the car's specs to people no problem. Maybe one day when we'll have our own place and solid jobs and out of school, she'll have one of her own.

My wife is cool with it.  She is ok with all of the time I've been putting into her for the interior restoration this winter/spring because she knows every hour I'm spending on the car is saving $80-$100/hr. in labor having someone else do it.  She likes riding in it too and seeing everyone ogle and make comments to us while we cruise, or sitting back at car shows watching people check it out.  I'm lucky, she really doesn't care much about cars, as long as they go and look nice, but when it comes to the Charger she's cool about it.  I try to ask from time to time when on the road or watching TV to see what she would want in a classic so she could have her own, but I don't think it'll happen.

My wife and I were a bit frustrated the paint took so long. I asked her to read a couple threads here about people waiting years to get their car back from a shop. After that she was good. In 2005 we restored a 69 Chevelle and she got the bug so when we had the opportunity to buy our Charger it was a cakewalk. I jammed 6 months after paint to get it on the road. We're already entered in several shows and she loves the "thumbs up" she gets when we're out...............if they can catch us. :2thumbs:

i think every woman should support their man and try to achieve her man's dream even though she thinks its crazy!glad to hear that there are women out there who appreciate the our chargers!

Well it depends on whether I ask my wife or my G-friend.  :smilielol:

Mine is really cool about it, she has a 65 Mustang so she cant say anything ;) On long trips she really like my 70 Charger(the only one thats fished) but she cant understand my thing with my RT/SE :icon_smile_big:

My wife has just enough interest to understand that i'm a car guy and leave me alone. The money aspect, i do all repairs and restoration from side jobs and not use my regular income.  :2thumbs:

Cooter

The Wifey is cool with it as I was smart enough NOT TO MARRY ONE that was gonna become a "Diva" bout the time I'm halfway through teardown and start bitchin'... Told her that the cars were here before her, will be here while she's here, and be here when and if she's gone..She understood UP FRONT that the cars were a part of me. I don't take it to extremes, but I don't let her become a PITA about it either. It's a give and take. Every time "Mother's day", X-mas", whatever rolls around, I ask her what she wants, get it, then i make sure she knows that the $$ came from "The old cars parts I sold"...I don't cheat on her, beat on her, do drugs, drink, etc. She knows where I am at all times-Usually under the hood gettin' dirty with my "Other" mistress, the cars.

For the life of me, I cannot understand how someone could marry a female that gives them sh*t about the very thing they KNEW ABOUT ALL ALONG before they were married?? I guess once the "Transfer of ownership" [IE Mariage License] becomes final, they feel they have full right to begin to try and change a Muthaf***er..

Old Moparz

One of the reasons I stayed with my wife is that she was okay with my car hobby. She went along with me to the spring & fall Carlisle shows when that was all Carlisle had back in the 80's. She also went to the Mopar Nationals with me in MI in '85 in my ragtop, & did the 2000 mile trip mostly with the top down. One thing she said once when we started dating was, "So you'll be all done with this car thing after the car is painted, right?"   :smilielol:

My wife has felt gulty ever since I sold my 68 to pay off her mountain of debt, so when I started talking about finding another she was all for it. She's even putting in over time at work to help fund my new 68 project.

We have the same days off and used to work the same hours but when I got my 68 I started working mornings while my wife works swing. So I usualy work on my car when she's at work this way she don't say I don't spend time with her.  :2thumbs:

Now the only problem is nothing gets done around the house. :brickwall:
