Great work!....how many hours into it so far?

panhead

I lost count, but I'm thinking around 80hrs or so. And still have about another 30 or 40 still left, counting the leading.

DAY CLONA

Really nice work there Panhead. seems you have a good knack for metal work,....I can appreciate the effort it takes, although it's hard to see in your photos, the top skin seems to lack the slight convex shape/bubble to the skin between the headlight openings, and the slight concave depression above each headlight opening,....if it's not present, I know it's too late to English wheel it in,....but you could lightly sandblast the center section between the headlight openings to raise the surface to a convex bubble, start in the center blasting, and spiral evenly outward with a uniform blasting pattern, blasting on the outside nosecone surface will raise the metal,....to concave the area above each headlight opening, just sandblast that area from inside the nosecone to depress that area inward,....kinda like the "poormans" english wheel,....I use this technique on some of my reproduction Superbird/Daytona steel reproduction  body parts to concave/convex the surface, esp if it's impossible to english wheel the part during construction,..........keep up the great work dude!

panhead

I be hurrying,  :D I'm in the process of making my grill right now. I can't go any further on the nose until I get the rest of the inner stuff. I'll make my last mounting lip once I get the latch tray so I can aline the upper part of the nose cone to the hood and fenders. I'll be getting the rest of the stuff next weekend from E.Nelson. ( latch tray, z-bars, c-channels, nose to valance brace, valance, spoiler, and wing washers.) After getting this stuff, All that is needed to finish mocking up my car is head light doors, and fender scoops. Well thats all for now.  :scratchchin:

I won't be wronged, I wont be Insulted and I wont be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to others, and I require the same from them.
