Finishing the underside

I've decided to go for the gusto & having the underside of the Daytona blasted & painted. The factory cheaped out when these cars were built & we all know that cars left with primer & some color overspray underneath. So, should the "original" cheapness be duplicated or is it better to correct the "mistake" that the factory made? If the cheap look is to be preserved, how far does one go with replicating the factory look on the rest of the car?

I'm leaning on painting it the body color, but what's the consensus of those here?

If you are going to drive it I would paint it.If you are looking for show points then make it look half done....Now that doesn`t sound right...

I would paint it,but if I was your body man Id be pretty disgusted that you are deciding this now instead of before you had the outside done.

There was an issue with the paint and it's got to be re-squirted, so I completely gutted it & that's why I'm now going this route.

Ok . Thats not so bad then. Still alot more stress than if it were done before, but not as bad as if it were done and ready to go.

We painted the bottomside of my Daytona with decent paint that looks like the factory's primer but will actually seal off the metal.  Little bit of overspray, and voila - best of both worlds... correct look and yet durable enough to drive.

Go whichever way you prefer.
