I just sold my Edelbrock carb on ebay for the reason of the original kickdown linkage doesn't work correct using the Eddy.  The postion of the linkage mount is to far forward and the throw is to long.  Problem would be I couldn't get full throttle because the kickdown would bottom out before the carb was fully open.  Once I located the original Carter on ebay, everything works correct now.

Yeah, the throw of the throttle is wide and long on the eddy. Took me a while to figure out why the rods wouldn't work right no matter what I did?  The Factory Carter obviously is the exact location and throw.

I should have more if you need them

What motor and year is that with grey and yellow springs?  69 440 is green throttle and red kickdown correct?

I had what I believed to be original springs so thats the way it went back together.

I personally have seen some green but ususally grey carb return springs. Up untill about a year or so ago green was the only return sping avail as a repop, so a lot of cars are/were restored with such and may or may not be 100% accurate.

kickdown springs I've seen yellow, red, orange and sometimes white. ( but white is typically used on six pack applications )

Also,,,,yellow usually had a red dot on it as well. The oranges ones I've seen usually have a black dot on them. Red  usually has a black stripe on it and the white is just plain white

Both Edelbrock and Holley make throttle lever extensions to put the Mopar linkage in the correct position. Edelbrock number is 14-81 and Holley is 20-7.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Oh yeah forgot about that?  I love having the correct Carter but I heard there was an adapter thingy.

Sooooo it looks like you had to extend the slotted trani rod also?  I see a nut on there?
That's the problem I had.  The trani rod not being long enough and I added length with a cut bolt and used a nut to hold the two sides together to extend the length.  :P  Got that?  Still had the issue that the rod bottomed out before the carb was at full throttle.  The Carter doesn't have that issue as the throw swing is shorter. :icon_smile_big:

:coolgleamA: good bit of detective work Rob !! extending  the slot !! it does look like it , but no , i did not ! the nut on there is only because i had to wind the slotted part of the  kick down rod to almost the end , think there is only 5 or 6 turns of thread inside !! &  feels loose & wabbly a little , so putting a nut & tightening it against the end slot part ! it makes it rigid ! not loose &  wabbly  ,

looking at the picture Bill posted !!

not even sure if thats the correct one for the car now (the top part) !  :scratchchin:  although my charger was previously unrestored with 63 thousand miles , the origianl  motor had been blown up ! &  swapped  by the second owner & it looked like he had been altering the linkage & stuff !  :scratchchin: for some reason :shruggy: the middle part that runs from the the gear box to intake bracket   !
perhaps the top is wrong  too short  :scratchchin:

For some odd reason mine was at the end of the threads also.  I just couldn't understand why?  So what I did to fix the problem without adding anything ( like the nut ) to make it look altered was take off the Short bent rod that is closest to the trani and squeeze the bend mostly out of it.  This lengthend the throw and I was able to thread the slotted rod near the carb deeper into the threads.   :coolgleamA:  :2thumbs:
But on my Eddy, I cut a bolt of the same threads and and extended the length.  I had a nut on there also but grounded in round so it didn't stick out much.
