I've got a 69 RT/SE I'm restoring now with some head scratching options:   Power Windows, AM/FM, Rear Defroster, Tach, Console, Road Wheels, but what it doesn't have is power brakes, 3spd wipers, or A/C.   :scratchchin:  You'd figure that if someone wanted an RT/SE they'd want power brakes and A/C at least?  Weird.  I'll take it though! :2thumbs:  That's kind of the cool thing about these cars.  No matter what you think you know, it's just a matter of time before someone comes along and deflates your "all knowing" balloon with a factory example.  :icon_smile_big:

Cheers

I am with you on that "all knowing" or think you do, which is part of the excitement of finding and learning about other varying cars.  Regions seem to (obviously) influence them, my life has been central & the south, so a Charger without AC seems actually less common to me and at the same time why would anyone want AC in Canada or New England, OR, WA cars with the nice summers they get to have.   PW, FM, cruz in any Charger over the years to me is not that common, even on SE cars and the AC vs rewindow items seem more of a component of where they sold new.  :Twocents:

Open ended question here is, what makes an RTSE rare to you?   On RTSEs how about Sunroofs, V21, lugage rack, 4spd non console, ordered odd color combo's or even vinyl top delete cars?  To me it is all about color combo w/ hard loaded or several rare (desireable) options.

they are all rare IMO some more than others !!  , like unrestored original cars ,
options too !!   i doubt there are were two made with identical options & color combo  :Twocents:
think you could  even seperate the two !! wow thats a rare R/T SE with a 4speed with them options & color combo  :drool5:
&  :drool5: look at that R/T SE with a Torqueflite , thats an odd color combo & options :yesnod:
but  rare options & color combos , don't necessarily make it desirable  :shruggy: although if i was a collector yes would be  :yesnod: :shruggy:

the first thing you really see !! & IMO is  color combo !  ! then a closer if its got a sunroof !  stick or auto , etc etc , that is the main car ! so to speak , then if it has cruse , A/C  power discs or drums  etc etc think each car should be judged individually

Looks like a B3 exterior RTSE, nice optioned car and fairly rare color (to me), off hand cannot recall seeing another B3 colored RTSE.  I like it combo.

Well my black beater RTSE made yesterday's Hot Rod power tour facebook cover page area.  Lots of cars there, some said around 3000-3500 cars..... either way lots of cars, that's cool.   Interesting post question is what would you do with this project :stirthepot:.   Car has been together driving for about two yrs, so I guess it is related to the very definite variations of opinions I hear (restore because it is rare, leave as is cool and crusty, etc).  In my case and plan remains, I am "done" for likely a very long time after I make reliable the  :RantExplode: :RantExplode: PW's at one corner and finish ducting/controls for the modern AC.

Regardless, cool to see my car out of a large number land on a website, first time for me.

Ok, This is a friend of mines R/T SE, originally B5 I think. One of the really late builds and it has a 70 swaybar instead of a 69 and a peacenik sign on the diff  .  Really nice car  :coolgleamA:
The plan will be putting it back to factory colour in the future
Found out today that another guy here with a recently imported Daytona has the same build date and they are 130 cars apart, pretty cool.

Pardon my ignorance but what is the main difference(s) between an RT and RT SE? Is there any way to tell without a tag or build sheet ?

Ahhh, I see. Not a lot really and nearly impossible to tell if those items were removed.

Ahh small world, we crossed paths at Ed Darodo some ten yrs ago +/-.  I think I drug up there a white RTSE that yr maybe if I recall, not sure, long time ago, what I do remember is loving your car and making a play at it.   Can’t blame a boy for trying :drool5: , glad to hear you still have it (long time owners  :2thumbs:).  So you still got the convo pros on it apparently, do not see them much anymore, I like them on your car.   Honestly, your car is likely in my top 20 RTSEs that I like best which circle in my head.  I think I might have photos of your car from that yr, I will look.

:smilielol: :smilielol: I got some nice old stripe too

The horizontal trim under the pad and above the panel?

Yeah, I should have some pics from El Dorado somewhere too.  Jason, was it?  Didn't we eat at a pizza place one year?  Was fun running down there for the meet.  Haven't been in a looong time.  Had other interests taking up my time.  Wheels are Centerline Billet Stars.  I had always wanted Champ 500 but Centerline I guess never made the size I wanted.  Even called Centerline to verify, so, had to pick something else, LOL.  Doesn't get driven much right now, with a 10+ year old T Bucket project and motorcycle stuff.  Gets out about a dozen times +/- a year.  Just nice to have it resting in the garage for right now.

Tan Top, I'll have to see if I can find some pics.  Never did have a bunch for that car, but do have some 35mm that I could scan...wait, maybe I did scan them already.  I'll look around some more....but don't expect anything better than the sig pic, LOL.

XS29LA47V21

This is Shirley in the holly grail category.  Quite an exceptional car in my eyes, honestly not my favorite color on a Charger, but wow..

So would you rather have this car or a low option common color Daytona or a viper?

And it looks really great to me.  FWIW, it would be supprising to me that someone does not step up for the opportunity of such exceptional car when one comes available.  Good luck. :2thumbs:

69 OUR/TEA

Even though  rare options, the sunroofs and luggage racks on a 69 charger just doesn't look right to me,can't say I'd ever want that in my car.To me,that is more of a modern day car option, not on an older car.But then again, would'nt want a 4 speed either.Cruise control would be nice though !!!!
