For a race car, yes. The problem in using these on a street car is that dust, dirt, and road debris can get up in the bearing track and cause binding.

Hmm, I'm sure with some very good cleaning I can saftely run them on the street? Maybe see if I can make some kind of dust boot?

Sure, if your diligent about cleaning it may not be an issue. However here are other ways to drop the rear an inch that don't require the fabrication to ensure alignment and the jacking effect from replacing the shackles is not that pronounced in a street vehicle. But they are cool and will be unique.

What rear springs would you be using? How much pinion angle change would you get from eliminating the rear shackles?

If you install them , post the results please.
