Alright, this isn't A4 Silver, is it?

I know it has been photoshopped slightly.... However I dig the paint. Is it real A4  and just photoshopped?  Also, semi-related; the tail stripe is from a 69 but I like having the 500 on the tail stripe, has anyone done this on a 70?  It appears it should work and from my research it should.

Obviously tricked out, painted bumbers and such,.. why not use the 500 stripe?.. yours a 500?.. I suspect that paint is close to a charcol with heavy metalflake. looks great.  :yesnod:

I was noticing the painted bumpers and actually really liking those as well!  And, yes mine is a 70 500 and I might just use this car as a bit of a basis for my build.   I really wanna use the 500 tailstripe and as far as I can tell it will work.  Can anyone with experience (which I dont have! This is my first Charger  :icon_smile_big:)  However, it looks lighter than a charcoal... Any ideas?

The color looks pretty similar to the Pewter paint on our 2002 Corvette.

A little tricked out and not stock, but man does it look good from that angle. Love the color and the Vectors.

Like the color, like the stripe.Hate the the painted bumpers,I like vectors but they dont look good with the silver paint and dont the like exhaust outlets either.Thank God we all like different stuff or every damn car would be the same  :icon_smile_big:

Thats not A4, A4 is darker then that

A4 has more of a greenish tint to it depending on angle and lighting

Ghoste

I like the look of the car but also agree that it isn't A4 but instead some modern color.

I didn't think it was either, i dig the color tho; and, no, no one over at the 70 registry knows it.  I happen to be restoring a 70 currently and the wonderful guys over there have been assisting me every step! However, looking at pictures of this car vs either A4 chargers is really bringing up the vinyl debate... Do I do it or no... Does anyone here have pictures of silver chargers with and/or without the vinyl top?  Please specify if it is A4 or otherwise!

x2 that it's a GM color. Looks like a shined up Pewter from the '02 Chevy line-up.

Alright, then its decided, I can't use that specific color.  A GM paint on a Charger...  :nono:

How about a Mercedes-Benz color?  They owned Chrysler for a little while.  :2thumbs:  I've always liked their greys and silvers.  Not that I don't think the Mopar 999 wouldn't look great, but if you're looking for alternate ideas...

Below is an old color chart, stone grey looks kind of nice if you google it, it looks a bit discolored in the below image.  You're better off googling the paint color names you see below, or find modern ones.  I can't seem to find a modern one, but I know there's at least two grey/silver shades that I have liked.

Thanks Dan, I think I could live with a Benz color...  :yesnod:  I guess I should just be glad that I'm not making the decision yet and continue to pick everyones brains and try to find a silver one without the vinyl if possible... I'm still looking!

These pics are from '84 just after I bought it.  Not great pics and the scanner was not kind.

Sorry, no good pics with the road wheels.  IMO, the road wheels really gave it the muscle.

Hope this helps with the no-vinyl-with-silver question.   (paint is lacqer omni/charger/shelby of the day)

tsmithae

Thanks! That does help; appreciate that!  :2thumbs:

Duh.  I just looked at the colors available for the 2011 Charger, and there is a silver and a grey that look nice.  You might want to check them out.

Billet Silver Metallic
Tungsten Metallic
