More info about my dad's Charger! I can't believe it!

Anyone have these issues and mind looking through them? I'm looking for pictures and an article about a Pink 1970 Dodge Charger.

A friend of the guy who used to own the car said there might be an article in '91 but can't remember exactly.

The car was my dad's '70 Charger R/T.

After being pink and racing it was then sold to a couple in Vernon or Kelowna where it was a dirt track racer.

So if someone knows the article and could scan it for me it would be greatly appreciated.

How this came about:

I was talking about old MOPARs on a Canadian Firearms Forum and low and behold a guy said he helped a friend paint and build a 1970 Dodge Charger and paint it pink to be used in the One Lap of America race for 1991. After a few questions it turned out to be my dad's old Charger!

Ok in 1991 the car was owned by a Mike Ulrich of Prince George, BC and was in 32nd place in the 1991 One Lap of America. It was then sold sometime to a family by the last name of Wightman from Hinton, Alberta. It was talked about in the 1995 MOPAR ACTION! magazine.

QuoteTo us in the Valiant half of the team, we were surprised to find that the musclecar class had grown to include no less than eleven entries, including the Accel/ Echlin Camaro, a tweaked 1984 Vette with a fresh all-aluminum mill, the more-than-a-little nutso Panther Pink 1970 Charger R/T of Hinton, Alberta's Wightman family (the former Mike Ulrich car), now with an even-hairier Muscle Motors 451-inch stroker 400, and a 1979 Buick Regal, reputed to be an ex-Nascar stocker civilized for the street.

So after that guy owned it then it must have been sold to the couple from Kelowna or Vernon BC where it was raced on the dirt tracks.

always cool to find a history of a car that you once owned (family owned).  I was contacted a couple years ago by someone who was going through the interior of my dads and mine old 71 Buick GS convertible.  Turns out the car is now down in Florida (or so I last knew).  I miss that car.  Fully loaded with the exception of the GS 455 Stage 1 motor. :rotz:

Sadly I used to know the name of the couple who raced it on the Dirt Tracks but have since forgotten that info due to being on the old forums and having my email at the time hijacked.  :-\

I'm still looking though.

if it was dirt tracked i don't imagine it had survived long. probably in landfill or recycled by now.

THE CHARGER PUNK

I have the magazine from 95 with the pic of the car wearing stickers ,says it was running a 383 to get to the race but had a stroker waiting for it when it got there
