I always type " 1969 Dodge charger " and scroll down for parts and what not.  Now there are over 8,000 items because eBay allows some sellers to stick that title to any stupid un related thing to the Charger part they want.  It's turned me off big time for scrolling.  Have you noticed the change and has it frustrated you also.  I go back to being a member since it started, I am not happy about this.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Same bad feeling here. When searching 1968 Road Runner, nearly every generic item in the universe comes up, I've seen Brand X parts listed often just because the seller tacks on the word Mopar. Hate it. Hate it a lot.

The 12 Scariest Words in the English Language:

1968 Plymouth Road Runner, Hemi and much more
2013 Dodge Challenger RT, Hemi, Plum Crazy
2014 Ram 4x4 Hemi, Deep Cherry Pearl
1968 Dodge Charger, 318, not much else
1958 Dodge Pick Up, 383, loud
1966 Dodge Van, /6, slow

jaak

Yep it sucks..... each page is made up of about 85-90% needless shit; assorted screw, o-rings, fuse, etc. kits, and any other type of 'generic' auto parts.

I set up a search after I found there were always lots of "unrelated" parts coming up.
It's fairly simple to do if you have an idea of what sort of things you want to remove from the list.
eg search Dodge Charger 68 69 70 the hit the - key and a key word one at a time til the list becomes much smaller.
You'll also have to do the search only in cars, boats, vehicles and parts etc

eg dodge charger 68 69 70 -shirt -dvd -brochure -keychain -wallet -magnets -model -*:* -whatever else is appearing lots on the list

note the -*:* should remove scale models when the asterisks are wild cards

Just tried it on your ebay and the list went from 6673 to ironically 440

Oh yeah, once you have it the way you want it make sure you save the search
Gotta love a '69

Wow, I'll have to give that a try.  Thanks. :2thumbs:

Nice to see there's a better way.  I pretty much quit exploring ebay when I realized I can find a tap and die set to fit a 67 Charger almost anywhere else.

This is one of my current saved searches.

charger (66,67,1966,1967) -"turbo charger" -"ac charger" -"car charger" -newspaper -"car cover" -"spark plugs" -battery -jvc -ipaq -carpet -book -clock -poster -1:18 -radio -JL -"Die-cast" -Siemens -t-shirt -ART -samsung -panasonic -ericsson -sony -motorola -model -"hot wheels" -hotwheels -johnny

the ( ) is a "or" field

charger 66
or charger 67
or charger 1966   you get the idea

and the "-" are "not"

not with -ipaq in the title
and not with -book in the title

and multiple words in quotes
-"Die-cast"    -"Car cover"

works well for me.

bull

Once in a while, in addition to all the other crap, I get San Diego Charger memorabilia from 1968.

I did that same search (but replaced 66,67,1966,1967 with 68, 69, 1968, 1969) and got 6,696 hits. And then when I added "dodge" in front of charger it dropped to 3,816 hits.

I noticed this too and it's really irritating. Searching for 61 Chrysler parts and coming up with two pages of generic turbo kits. WTF?
I'll have to take the adivce posted here and try refining my search techniques, but lately I just don't spend much time looking anymore.

Craiglisters are more and more using key words. Looking for a 440 core? You come up with 20 listings and 18 of them are people selling a cracked /6 maniold or whatever but they put "Key Words 440, etc" at the bottom of the ad. Gee, thanks.  :eek2:

i did notice on a search the other day a lot of crap came up that would fit ANY car, ie fuzzy dice, they put heaps of brands in the title.
another pet hate is they'll put something like "A Dart, NOT A CHARGER" in the title it'll come up with in a charger search.

of course, e3bay as a whole would be better if sellers would put stuff in the right category in the first place...
