Hey Guys -

This if for all those guys who are into the new stuff as well as the old. This past weekend i the opportunity to thrash on a 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RS up at Thunderhill Raceway in Willows, CA. I have driven quite a few high end cars on the track, but I've got to admit, this is now my all time favorite ride. It's unbelievably stable in the corners, the carbon ceramic brakes will suck your eyes and its 450 flat-six has the most linear torque curve out there.

Check out the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVy8A4lD-kA

It truly is an amazing machine.

Cool!

Just out of curiosity... what software/equipment do you use to integrate the instruments into the video image (or is it done later)?

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Not sure which system it was, but I'll find out for you. I do know it's wired directly into the ECU which is how it reads, RPMs, throttle, braking and G-forces. The track map is achieved by via small magnet on the roof similar to what a satellite radio antenna looks like. It's a pretty trick system.

Wish I would have known...I live 5 miles from the track.

Seems like a very wide power band, low 80's to mid 120's in 4th gear...impressive!  :2thumbs:

It actually is - that flat 6 has a very wide torque curve.
