just curious what a tranny i had is worth, I'm switching over to a manual transmission, so I wont be needing my auto anymore. I'm currently unsure of the year, i'd have to check it, but im sure its the newer style (71 and up i beleive)  completely rebuilt using Kevlar bands, deep tranny pan, B&M shift kit, plus a custom built 3000 stall converter (converter was built at a local shop called Bell Transmissions) the transmission itself was built by an old chrysler tech I knew down in Kansas when i was going to school. The transmission has about 2 blocks on it, since thats all the farther i drove my car after installing it before i parked the car due to getting busy at work. and havent driven it since then.

any ideas what its worth?

Russ,

I have seen some places sell for 750 to 1500 of course upwards as well.  I do not know if you would get that privately or not.

This for a BB if I did not have two sitting in the shed I would take it....OR IF YOU PROMISE IT WILL STAND UP TO A BLOWN HEMI

moparguy01

I promise it will stand up to a blown hemi. for alittle while at least.  :icon_smile_big: it was built to sit behind a 500+ HP 440 though. so it should handle that much power just fine.

The local mopar club's trans guru with 30+ years experience rebuilds the 727 for $400.00, parts and labor.

Figure in the extra costs of a trans core, and the aftermarket parts and converter, and you will have a starting/asking price.

The 4 digit 10,000 day calender date on the side of the trans, just above the driver's side tranny pan rail will be roughly 3275 (July 16, 1970) or greater to be a 1971 model or up 727.

P.S. I hear shipping to Hutchinson, KS for a 727 runs around $700.00........... LOL.

*Speed costs money son, how fast do you want to go, and for how long?"
*"Build the biggest engine you can afford the first time."
*"We normally wouldn't use a 383 for this build, parts and labor for a 440 cost the same."

Look on the passenger side at the three round bulges in the case, the center bulge will have a hex head pipe plug. If the plug is down low in the case near the pan rail it's a '70 or earlier, if the plug is a  couple of inches higher it's a '71 or later.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
