I was told that 71-4 b-body rear was different then a 72 coronet wagon rear,& to use a 69-73 c-body rear.Is this true?

the rear in my 73 came out of a 74 coronet station wagon....direct bolt in.
Remember the average response time to a 911 call is over 4 minutes.

The average response time of a 357 magnum is 1400 FPS.

The '71-'74 B body car rear end is 63" wide overall and has 47" spring centers. The '71-'74 wagon is 64 3/8" wide overall and has the same 47" spring pads.

The C body has 46" spring pads so it's not a direct interchange.
