I am having trouble finding a 72 right front fender, and i was told that a 73-74 fender will not work because they are longer is this true?

I've heard they will fit, but I'm sure they won't look right.  73/74 has slightly different curvature and body lines than 72.  At least, that's my understanding.

I heard the same thing. I'm not positive, but I believe that 71-72 are interchangeable, and 73-74, but very few parts can swap between the two styles

They will fit, but it would stand out

wheel arch does not extend as high on the 72 model. That's the diff. - a very big one!

NICE THREAD!!! lol

will fit but:
EXTERIORLY you wouldn't notice the difference except if measuring the wheel opening arch on top ( or if you are good enough apretiating that without measure ), but when opening the hood you will note something wrong around radiator core support, having a BIG GAP there
