OK: would you listen to sympathy for the devil?..  :shruggy:

Or "Jesus Built my Hotrod?" by Ministry
Or NIN's "God Money"

I suppose you have boycotted many MANY amazing songs by Johnny Cash

And I imagine anything Judas Priest is out of the question

Never heard either of those two songs.  I've never "boycotted" any music, just don't choose to listen to certain music.  No, never listened to Judas Priest.

Ok, I'm gonna open myself up to all sorts of BS comments, but here's the thing.  I don't believe in religion.  Not one religion or another, one side of religion or the other, but the entire concept of it.  IE, I don't believe in any such thing as "god" or "jesus", or any of the other religion myths.  Thus, I am not interested in songs or groups that sing about it in a good or bad way, in a positive or negative light.  Not interested in driving down the road with the word "jesus" blaring out the window, even if the song is not a pro-religion song.  (granted I don't drive down the road with music blaring out the window much anymore   :icon_smile_cool: , but you know what I'm getting at)

I try to stay neutral on the subject when people are arguing about relgion, but somtimes feel the need to clarify things if people get too stupid about it, or specifically make references to me as somthing I am not, such as an atheist or agnostic.  Those are religous words, made up to categorize people.  I belong to no group, other than the human race and the U.S. Army (and I'm working on retiring from the second one!).

Oh, and before people start bashing, let me say this, I have lived what many would consider a more decent, moral, and yes even "christian" life than most christians that I have met.  I've served my country for more than 20 years, been married almost 22, don't smoke, don't cheat, don't steal, never used illegal drugs, pay my bills on time, try to help people when I can, grow a garden and share the food with my neighbors, even paint over graffiti on the old train station out where I grew up and my mom still lives, and teach my kids to treat everyone the same-with respect, yet, because I choose not to drink the cool-aid, there are people who tell me I am a horrible aweful person.  Sorry, I call Balogna.  My parents taught me right and wrong, and they didn't need religion to convince me.  If they said don't do it, you didn't do it, or you got a whuupin and put in the corner for 2 hours (or got grounded) .  If there were more parents doing their job, the world would be a better place, in my opinion.

Thus, not interested in depeche mode.....  sorry.

P.S.:  And yes I know Def Leppard had a song called "rock of ages", but I also know it had nothing to do with religion, (except maybe borrowing the name of the song).

Rant over.  So how about those cars.......

You're allowed to believe whatever you want but Jesus warns in Matthew 12:37 "For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."

Another point is that it doesn't matter how much good stuff we do, it's the bad stuff that matters. You can live like mother Theresa but if you do one bad act like murdering someone you're going to get in trouble for it. Likewise, if you get pulled over for speeding, you can't just tell the cop what a good person you are and how many good things you've done to make him let you off. It doesn't work like that. He'll still give you the ticket. You had even said your own parents gave you a whoopin when you deserved it, it didn't matter how many good things you did earlier in the week. What kind of parents would they have been if they didn't punish you when you deserved it? With all of the good things aside, our bad deeds still deserve punishment.

Revelation 21:8 warns "But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death." I don't know about all of you, but I've at least told a lie and as such I deserve punishment too. That's the realization we must all come to, that we deserve punishment in comparison to God's standards, before we can accept grace.

Grace is as stated in John 3:16 "God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life."

Your allowed to believe whatever you want but, some people who are still alive claim that space aliens crashed in New Mexico in 1947, and that our government covered it up.  Although I don't believe in space aliens, I would be more likely to believe those people than anything you can quote from a man made book of man made stories.

I don't go around telling you how to live, or what to believe in, save your breath.  Quoting the bible is like quoting the dukes of hazzard, only less entertaining.
