ertl has released numerous 1/18th scale wing cars, and even a few daytonas in 1/64th. opening trunks, complete with a spare tire, make for an unusual detail in this scale. i believe this is every color variation produced.

I like the metal flake version of mine.  Thanks for sharing!

kidco, creator of the hemi 440 (and one weird looking wing). these two diecast versions, along with the two plastic "key cars" are the only variations i've ever seen from the company.

I need that red key car...it's on the back of the package for the white one (I have one MOC) but I've only seen a couple of the red ones.

You don't happen to know anyone with any of these still in the package do you? I have a handful of the red ones but none are still in the package, and only have one of each of the other colors. But then again mine were played with a ton because I got these when I was like 5 years old. So they are pretty beat up.

not off hand, i don't. both diecast versions pop up on ebay every once in a while. the white key car also shows up on occasion, but i have not seen a red one for sale, loose or packaged, in quite some time. i gave both diecast versions to paul kaufman three or four years ago, but those were the only extra kidco's i had.

bad move or not, i opened all of my "keeper" stuff, including these four cars, years ago. had i been on here back then, i'd have swapped someone for their loose ones.

WOW!  I bid $120, knowing I'd probably get outbid, but I didn't expect it to go THAT high.  I know it's rare, but still...

held1823

i didn't even bother biddding, knowing it would go for stupid money. It's crazy that the final bid on it can buy all five other colors combined.

Ive given up on collecting the toys and die casts. I wish I had half the money ive spent on stupid NASCAR collectibles.

I had the chance to buy a Green and Purple SSP wing cars as a package about 10 years ago for $50. They were unbroken and worked but I just couldnt bring myself to stock anymore dust collectors.
wingless now, but still around.

i finally added the last flamethrower paint variation, only to see i have one car with clear windows. apparently the non-flamethrower versions had both clear and blue windows, but those will have to wait until i find the two mexico cars.

the orange version sells for crazy money, while the other five colors generally bring much less.

perhaps the orange ones were all hemi cars...

this superbird is appx. 1/18th scale. i need to find something to remove the white-ish looking glue residue left behind after having to reinstall the wing.

I don't know if this qualifies as intended, but it IS a miniature wing car indeed!  This gentleman lives in my hometown and built it entirely by hand. It is a perfect 1/4 scale. He is an absolute wizard with fiberglass! He stands 6 foot+ and gets in through the door..... click on the picture to see the video.

Looks like the one that was for sale on Ebay a few months back!
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

71_Charger_R/T

You are right. it was listed on Ebay, but I don't think it was painted at that time. was it?
