Interesting but no real surprises to anyone here I imagine.  What of the article on market correction?  Not gonna happen is it?

CB

a sure way to reduce the value of a Charger...converting it into a LEE?
Tell this to the HLAPG guys :)

The Lee issues have yet to really show what they will do to the values. I imagine at some point there will be more Lee's than demand for them. At that point the cars will take a value hit by prospective buyers as they will have to pay to have it made a color they prefer. It will be on the higher end of a project car class rather than a done car. That is just my speculation. I just can't see the amount of these cars being built is going to help any market in the long run.

69_500

Well I wanna see their issue where they cover the HEMI's and the aero cars. I wanna see what kind of ridiculous prices they will put in that issue. Will they be viewing Ebay as a source on that one too? HEMI 500's going for $375K, and HEMI Daytona Race cars going for $800K.

Ghoste

Yeah, it's hard to much stock into those market value guides.  From their end though, what other data are they going to use?

Well, comparing a 440 to the Six Packs anyway.

Let's compare Hemi to Hemi then...all years included.

My list...
1. 1970 Hemi
2. 1971 Hemi
3. 1969 Hemi
4. 1968 Hemi
5. 1967 Hemi
6. 1966 Hemi

Nice picture on the cover.

As always, T3 rules!

Sorry Chris, I don't quite get what you mean.  Unless I am misreading the article it compares a 70 318 car, a 69 383 SE, a 68 RT, and a 70 Six Pack car from a value perspective.

69_500

I figured they would list a 68 R/T, 69 R/T, and a 70 R/T to compare prices. Instead they chose a 69 SE, and a 69 with a 383.

If your throwing out figures for values on HEMI's by years i'd have to list them like this.

1) 1969 HEMI Daytona
2) 1969 HEMI 500
3) 1970 HEMI RT/SE
4) 1971 HEMI R/T
5) 1970 HEMI R/T
6) 1969 HEMI R/T
7) 1968 HEMI R/T
8) 1967 HEMI
9) 1966 HEMI

Ghoste, I don't know why they listed the cars they did. Why they used a 318 '70 and a 383 '69 is a little confusing.

You did say let's compare Hemis to Hemis, and if that happened, I believe the results would be what I posted.

Danny, I don't think XX cars should be categorized in the same class. I wouldn't include Superbirds when talking about Road Runner value.

Ghoste

Okay, now I get what you mean.  You and I are talking about two different things.  I was responding to Don when he said that 70's ruled the roost and to me, the graph was not an accurate comparison when the 70 model they chose was a 440-6 and the 68 was a 440-4.
Truthfully, I don't know that the results would be much different if they had compared powertrain to powertrain.  I wouldn't doubt your Hemi comparison is right and I imagine that info is out there somewhere.

Is that a Hemi badge on that non-RT 69 Charger that is on the cover?

Why, yes it is!  We've had some interesting discussions about that car in the past.  I am convinced it is a Hemi automatic non-R/T.  Some sources say you couldn't get such, others sorta indicate you could, but this car is proof-positive that at least one existed.

Or at least proof positive that they stuck Hemi badges on a non RT and then took photos of it. ;)

69_500

There is a little more evidence to it than just the HEMI badges. Who was it that had the clear photo of the car? Was that you Gene?

OKay well if your not including the XX cars, then yeah a 1970 HEMI RT/SE does rule the roost on values. But I think a 70 HEMI R/T and a 71 HEMI SuperbeeCharger are pretty close in values though.

Yeah, that was me.   I have a couple of photos of that T3 car from different angles.   You can clearly see that it has the Hemi Torque Boxes on the front spring perch, and at the bottom of the radiator yoke you can see the lower transmission cooler lines.   Those lines were only installed on Hemi Automatic cars.

For those two reasons, I am convinced this was a Hemi Auto car, despite the fact it isn't an R/T and it doesn't have 15" tires/wheels either.

I had tried posting the pictures of the photos I have online before (on the old D-C.com site) and they didn't show the detail that the original photos show.   I took the actual photos out to one of the shows this year (either the 'Nats or MonsterMopar, I forget which) so someone besides myself could see what I've been looking at.

Like I said, this is (or was) a legit Hemicar, I'm positive.     :yesnod:

How accurate can this thing be??

On page 2 they show 1 car and less than one but more than zero cars being sold through Ebay from 1946 to 1972 and 1964 to 1972 WTF?

Al Gore did not even invent the internet until the late 60' early 70's and Ebay did not even come along until the mid 90's where the he!! did they come up with stats that show ebay sales in 1972????

Someone needs to look at thier stats a little better? they should not even have included anything close to that in a report.
Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms should be a convenience store NOT a government agency!

69_500

There ebay section isn't listing what the prices were in 1970, or 1962, but what cars in that era are selling for.

I don't remember what show it was at that I saw your pictures, but it might have been Carlisle, or the Mopar Nationals. I didn't get to talk to you much at the Monster Mopar, but I did look at the pictures quite a bit. And I did see the auto trans line your talking about.

Ghoste

It must have been a show other than the Nats because I think I was looking through your photos at the Nats and even as stupid as I am at Columbus, I still would have had noticed if you had mentioned that car.  We only spoke for about three seconds or three minutes but I did spend a lot time going over, under, and around your car and I remember looking at photos.  Not that it matters.

I could see that happening...for the same reason that the first '70 HEMI car off the line was a 500 & not an R/T. They just didn't have all their ducks in a row when they started their production run, I guess.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Blakcharger440

That 69 Charger non-RT hemi is pictured in the new Mopar Muscle mag on page 11 and is the advertisement
for Reider Racing Gears but there it looks like it is red in color.
