Get your self a good 4' level ,jack stands (4) ,subframe connectors and good luck  :2thumbs: (ebay) or a B body donor car !!
What the Hell-Dumass !

KSChrgr68

removed the gas tank, front grille support and assembly, seatbelts out of the cab *some of em* made a few rough cuts around the trunk pan to loosen it from the frame rails, removed splash guards on the driver side fender area, hood hinges removed, trunk rubber seal scraped off, took the horn off ** ....  went to wal mart and got a bright LED flashlight for under frame light.  Going to attempt to remove the front bumper assembly and rear axle/leaf springs tomorrow night.. Sort of a sporadic disassembly lol, but i see something easy I can take off, grab a ratchet and go at it..     :yesnod:

headliner and dome light are out, mice kinda made two endzones of insulation padding above the driver and passenger doors, lil bastards.. it was all stuffed above the pass and driver bow bars lol...  :eek2:  oughta improve the odor coming from the cab now that all the padding has been removed..  Inspecting the chrome around the windshield, making sure there arent any screws holding it in from inside the cab.. will remove the chrome trim and then get the windshield out tomorrow, then its dash removal time   :yesnod:  spent most of the evening cleaning and reseting my *shop* it got pretty messy, decided to lessen the stress and tidy up before i start again..  3 days of freedom to tackle some much needed stripping duty.. no peeking lol

date night tonight with my new sweetie, she likes what im doing out in the barn with the ole charger,  :coolgleamA:  didnt get to remove the bumper or rear axle yet.. it will happen, o yes

I've seen worse, looks like a good project. I'd turn the hood on its side if you plan on using it again.

There's a great book called project charger. Pick it up at amazon. This site has an awesome instrument cluster restore thread. Mine looked like yours and now it's a beauty. Keep on keepin' on. Oh, and keep the sweetie; my wife is a big supporter of my project and it makes all the difference when you have a "I busted the darn windshield" day.
Plans are useless; planning is indispensible.
Especially with an old car!

The OEM glass is extremely brittle, it happens.
Besides, you would never put that crap back in... wait till its all shiny, you'll have to replace everything.

This car seems like a good candidate for the SRT-68 conversion - use a modern SRT Magnum/Charger and put the body on it.

:popcrn: dont scrap it and dont spend lots of money on parts till it is all apart and you inspect it all.. and start looking at it again with clear vision and help from others,2 heads ya know..  well ya said nothing bout the engine, sep 383???  pull plugs blow out cylinders and shot oil in ta soak, does it turn??? look in eng and sides of block for cracks between soft plugs or water in oil??    keep on it youll learn alot and have some fun.  that rusty inback may be race frame and tubs and lots of home fab alumminum panel and loads of fun ,than down the line a more stock body ta do up..  well have fun and hangin there :2thumbs:  well if ya puts a jak undar ta fram an it pops up inta the kar ya just may have a little rust - ish spot ta fex   ,lol ..dj

The conversion will cost less in the long run because you have to repair frames and floors, rebulid engine and trans, then rebuild or replace brakes, suspension and electrical anyway.
Oh and don't worry about that "classic car feel", you get to keep all of the window and door issues.

KSChrgr68

nope im gonna go old school, no new stuff in my charger unless its designed for the old 68..

Wear a mask! There are all kinds of things growing in that car that will spoil your day. I know I sound like an old woman when it comes to safety, but I have watched a lot of guys (including myself) get hurt or sick cutting on these cars.

Read this thread from a member here, this car was in about the same shape yours is in now. The frame and floor had to be replaced. Very good restoration reference. THIS car was in really bad shape.

good thread!  snowed today!!  not sad about that, taking a bit of a break from all things charger.. want to hit it again with fresh mind and a warmer atmosphere  :icon_smile_cool:  got a new 14.1 megapixel camera to take more detailed shots to post on here.  got it for a steal!   :D

most of bolts taken from car are bagged and labeled, chrome pieces and other parts set aside on benches and tables.  Good call on the hood, need to turn on its side asap..
