People ask, how do I get a 1:18 die cast made?

I've been asked, so I'll share a few ways to get 1:18 made.

1.) Do you just want "one" made of your car? The I'd suggest calling John Fox in AZ. If (if) the year, make, model you want - is made in 1:18 doe cast, he can re-paint, re-stripe, re-emblem, re-do interior color, use a motor from a different car, find wheels from yet a different car - all possible, but using 3+ cars to make one, locating them, getting them all to him if he doesn't have them, sanding, striping, painting, detailing, re-assembling, polishing, all take a lot of time, and sometimes the cost of multiple cars needed for parts. Almost anything is possible, just expect to pay for it.

2.) Do you want a run of hundreds, or even thousands of a certain car.

a.) If there is no current 1:18 mold for it, it takes a deposit with a manufaturer and 100's of thousands of dollars later you get a lot of cars.

b.) If there IS a current mold in 1:18 scale of the car type you want, most manufactures want a minimum of 750 to be made, some require 2,500 to be made. If it's 2,500 they require, you can do say 3-4-5 sligtly different cars (using that same mold) with quantities of say 500, 600, 650, 750, of those colors to equal 2500 cars needing to be made to do a run of 2,500 cars. Follow that?
