I'd suggest going into music stores and trying something out or even look on Craigslist dude. I'd never buy a guitar online before playing it.....just like buying a car online without seeing it first ;)

no i know...i'm just trying to cover all my bases...  :2thumbs:

Generally speaking, basses are larger than guitars. So it will take 2 Strats to cover 1 bass, unless your talking a small, short scale bass like a Hofner, in which case one Strat might work.  ;)

Do you care if it's got a tremelo or not?.. the Rosewoods play a slightly warmer tone the maples a bit quicker and crisper, some of the mexican versions play really well, and if you replace the pick ups with a Seymore Duncan set they play as well as the American Built ones... I especially love the Jeff Beck Pick up in the tail postition... just sayin' and good luck guitar hunting is alot of fun... I can't keep straight all the different versions they make and what they call them any more - there must be at least a dozen different models.
I bought my last Strat. for $150 at a flea market here, double white with tremelo - plays great! better then y early '70s one..  :popcrn:

I got a maple neck off ebay for my black Squire and thew away the rosewood neck cause it's too narrow for my thumgers   :P    Black pearl pickguard,  locking tuners and a bunch of stuff from guitar fetish.
And I got my tobacco burst Mexistrat that came maple with vintage noiseless pickups.   I added fender locking tuners.  Then I got a new tweed case,  put it in and haven't opened it since

But I'm not selling anything... mostly cause I'm upside down in both of them  :icon_smile_blackeye:     I still can't play for chit.  :-\
