In what ways specifically do the setups differ between 1/4 and 1/8 mile tracks?

I don't what made me wonder this, but what are they exactly?  I realize the obvious ones such as gearing and camshaft but are there other big (or not so big) differences?

You pretty much got the basics down...Twon't matter much anyway. as there won't be any 1/4 mile tracks left in the next 10 years anyway as everybody's going to 1/8th mile..

Oh sure, you'll have the Big dog tracks still running 1/4 mile, but the local strips will most likely be 1/8th mile strips...

There's a lot to consider, actually. Depends a lot on how fast your car is. Your car may be manageable in a 1/4 mile configuration, but with lower gearing might overpower the tires or chassis set up for 1/8 mile. If your car is actually a street car with realistic manners (12sec or so) you may not see much improvement by changing up for 1/8 mile, if your 60ft times are good anyway.
No way to know but to try out different setups and see what happens. :shruggy:
