Out of the game for too long

Was out at a ranch helping my dad pick up some tires and there was lots of cars, trucks, vans, etc all in various disrepair and all was covered in snow. One vehicle though was covered by a really huge tarp with just the grille poking out. The grille though kept bugging me, like I should recognize it. Just as we were leaving I asked the owner what kind of car was that under the tarp.

"1966 Dodge Charger."

:o

That's where I'd seen the grille before! So he took my dad and I over and we brushed the snow off and took a look. The interior was in very nice shape despite a few stitches pulling loose on the front seats. The body though needed a restoration, 383 Magnum under the hood. Everything was 100% original.

Seems the car belonged to his father and he remembers riding around in it as a kid.

He also mentioned at one time he used to own two other '66 Chargers and one of them was pink. Was there a Panther Pink '66 Charger available?

Anyways he said he wanted to have someone in Prince George restore it and meant to get it started before the snow flew but now he said he'll wait until the spring. I told him any Charger deserved to be back on the road rather than sitting and he agreed so I think he'll actually get it done.

And sadly the one time I forgot to bring my caerma.....  :slap:

There was a single pink 1966 Charger made by Dodge but it wasn't Panther Pink, it was Playmate Pink and it was awarded to the 1966 Playmate of the Year, Miss Allison Parks for her contributions to, well, you know.

Thanks Ghoste, so he probably had one that someone else painted pink sometime after the fact.

That or one incredibly rare 66 Charger that the fastback community has been musing about for some time.  Parks didn't keep the car and it sort of fell off the map.

Pretty sure there is still a pic of both car and young miss in the Chicks on Chargers thread.

Just 6T9 CHGR

There was also Mauve Metallic which is kinda pink.

My friend John has a '66 Hemi Plymouth Belvedere convertible in Mauve Metallic.... 1 of 1 auto car I believe

Chris' '69 Charger R/T

I didn't get a chance to view the VIN nor the fender tag on the car he had left. This car though was a dark color but not black, hard to tell exactly under the tarp but it certainly wasn't black.

That's true too.  A member here, Mauve66, has several pics on the site of his car that'll bear that out.
