Getting closer.....

The tranny is now in, just waiting on odds and end parts.  Although I now realize that I got the wrong oil pan...It sits on the drag link. :brickwall: Thats what I get for using eba

Today, if the gods are smiling upon me, I will get the rear bumper and taillights in....In actuality, I will probably spend 4 hours figuring out which bolts go where.... :yesnod:

I would've been a breeze if I could find all the damn screws  :brickwall:.  I eventually found them.

:drool5:

Too bad it won't be coming to my house until spring....It would be together by now.

It is originally a chrome bumper car.  I had the bumpers painted for lack of good chrome ones out there.  Plus, I think painted looks wayyyy better.  This is the ONLY thing on the car that is not original (as far as I know).  May the purists have mercy on me.

Very nice job you're doing! BEAUTIFUL!  You can always make it right again (easy enough) when you find a good set of bumpers if you want to keep it original. I was going to do the same thing with an extra set I have until I could afford to get mine re-chromed but found they looked presentable enough when I cleaned them up. So I didn't go the painted route but was planning to. I still need to save up for a re-chrome on the originals though.  I enjoy seeing the progress on your car. Keep up the good work.  By the way...... I spy another '71 R/T or Super bee hood  behind your car in the picture, any info on what that's about?

The painted bumpers look excellent.....as does the rest of the car !  :2thumbs:

Keep up the good work

That isn't another hood.  That is the hood that goes to the car.  Its on the car, off the car, on the car then off the car.

Oh, I see the hood is painted in your avatar but the one in the picture is in primer so I was thinking it was for another car. I'm confused  :shruggy:

greasyspider

If you are talking of the hood in the last pic I posted of the rear bumper, its just dusty.

71_Charger_R/T

Gotcha! You need to give me one of these....  :slap:             I can see the purple hue to it now that I look harder. I thought it was grey primer/sealer.
Carry on..... Sorry for the interruption.

Update!! Paint is done!! Pics will follow...

I just stumbled across this thread and it is completely fantastic.  The story is what totally makes this care a cut above the rest.  Reminds me of my experience.  I really hope someday I can get another one.  I had a 72 charger that followed the same lines as your Nova story.  O well... someday.

Anyways, your doing some fantastic work!  Really helps that you have a great space to work on it.  Did you reach a verdict about #'s matching status?

Looking forward to seeing more!
