IN a nutshell... 67 belvedere 4 door, original paint, mostly orig interior, very clean, 273 small block turbo, wilwood disc brakes, sway bars.... aside from the wheels, a total sleeper.  jeez it's even an original a/c car (all that looks gone now)

It's pretty cheap and not that far from me.  If I kept it, i'd sell off the wheels and put black steelies on it with no hubcaps and have the ultimate sleeper/cruiser.  Plan B would be to put the drivetrain in my charger with the 2.94 gears and brakes (not sure if they would bolt up) put another motor in the belvedere and sell it.  I still have the original 318 that I removed from my charger years ago.

so?

Yea, $4,997 is all it's worth. ::)

Looks like a cool buy.
I wouldn't mind having a 4-door Mopar, especially having 3 little ones. They actually like old cars and it would be cool to have a family 'hauler'. I've been keeping my eye out on this one locally... http://huntsville.craigslist.org/cto/2010515884.html

I agree if we were just talking about a clean 67 4 door.  I was considering the fact that it's got:

1. turbo motor intercooled, already sorted 0ut
2. wilwood front brakes
3. resale of the rims/tires (800-1000)
4. no need for bodywork
5. no need for interior work.

If I got this I would strongly lean towards putting the motor/tranny/brakes/rear chunk in my charger.  If I sold off the wheels, i'd be doing pretty well.   more HP than my current big block and maybe some gas mileage to boot. since the two cars weigh about the same, im thinking similar performance from both.

Even if I kept it, imagine the fun to he had in this thing surprising everyone, load the whole family into it, take it on relatively long trips with those gears.  I think 5k would be worth the price of admission on that alone.

That would be a great family or weekend car, and the price isnt bad at all if it runs.

You can get big block car for $3k
http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/1981899046.html
then you can have $2K for your turbo setup
or maybe this one http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/1960853903.html with big block in it
I would hate for you to throw away 5K on 4 door car just cause it has turbo in it   :eyes:

The Ebay car is cleaner then either of those. Comes with rims and has a slick power train. Looks like a better deal to me even though it's a 4 door.

exactly!

silver... I see your point in a way, but the first car is an outright basket case.  the 2nd looks better but needs a total restoration.  the ebay car I posted... it's got patina and unlike my charger, I won't have to worry where I park it...

I'm not just talking about me.  I am considering it but this is a pretty cool ride for anyone who's into mopars.

Sydmoe...what rims are on the charger in your avatar?

Plus the cost of getting either of those shipped 2600 miles... It's not really any savings

He doesn't have to buy cars that I've shown. It was just a sample that you can buy a big block car for much less and STILL have money left over for you upgrades(turbo, rims, etc)

Yeah, but they're cars that need a lot more work. I think his idea was to sell the rims to offset the cost AND he gets a drive train that's already sorted out. It's a very unique (and even practical!) cruiser. Anyone can drive a big block beater and get 7-10 mpg - which gets annoying if the car is not cool/unique or practical (like a truck).

I'll say it's "different" but probably not my cup of tea. Maybe that's because I have too many cars already.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Silver...your'e showing cars that need 20 grand and an act of god to come back.   It would be cheaper to cut this grannymobile in half and make it a two door than to fix either of those turds lol .

And lets all sit back and imagine the scene that unfolds when I, me...tries to sort out a turbo charger setup...  I think it would go something like this:

Looks like amazing deal to me. Clean rust free car with original paint, nice interior and goodies to boot. If your in the market for a cool cruiser, it's a no brainer IMO. Roached out rusted cars are a dime a dozen, people seem to base their value on the market on those cars. IMO clean rust free cars are worth 10x more. If it is really original paint, that's a huge plus. If the turbo kinks are worked out and it runs and drives as good as it sounds-Awesome find!
That being said. I would not buy a car like this sight unseen. It almost sounds too good to be true. I would definatly go look at it and test drive it. If it looks and drives as good as it apperas to I would certainly buy it.
