Poor Mustang!

  Even though some of the rollbar ripped, he MORE than got his money worth out of it. All the major items survived the crash..motor, trans, electronics. No shortage of roller Mustangs on Ebay to choose from.

The cage may have saved his ass this time.  But it still doesn't necessarily mean the cage lived up to specs.  

I have a hard time letting this slide. The weld snapped right off like a wad of dried glue.  The tubes don't look even slightly bent anywhere near it.  That shouldn't be happening, forceful crash or not.

I agree it was a bad weld, it looks as if you can see a few tacks were it pulled away. No way it should have failed at the weld.

I think I'd have a serious conversation with the idiot that welded that cage. By the looks of it, there was absolutely no weld penetration.
