Just to make sure I'm on track here, I have a simple question about my Charger.

If I run my car with no thermostat for the manifold heat control valve and retain the counterweight, am I correct in thinking that allowing the counterweight to drop at full counter clockwise position will work just fine?

think by removing the spring ! it shuts the valve from memory  ,  went through this a few years back when i swapped to a manual choke thunder AVS
i just removed the  heat riser flap altogeather &  tapped & put two bolts in the holes :yesnod:

The spring shuts the valve, the butterfly is mounted on its shaft slightly off center so the exhaust pulses on the long side of the butterfly push it open.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

So what I'm understanding is that it's okay to to run it w/o the spring as long as the plate can fall open freely?
