I don't have a lot of time so I will make this quick.

Here are my pictures of Saturday's Ironstone Concours d' Elegance in Murphy's CA
http://s416.photobucket.com/albums/pp248/MPR67/IronStone/?albumview=slideshow

This show was awesome!  Thanks Dan (68X426) for talking me into going!

When I got there a professional photagrapher was snapping away at Dan's Roadrunner for a calendar.
After Dan he asked if he could photograph mine. I have been wanting to take photos of mine in a really nice grassy area since I finished the Charger but never got the changes, so sorry for so many pics of my car in the beginning of the slide show. While the photographer was taking pictures of mine another gentleman I had met in the past (Larry) arrived in his all origional unrestored 67 Camero and got included as well.

There is a lot to see at this show...  cars, trailiers, boats, silent auction and a regualar auction all for charity.

Enjoy the pics there are 170 so it will take some time to get through them.

I'm sure Dan will add in more, I'm off to DisneyLand

Thanks Steve for posting. I may have a few to add but he took so many, and really good ones, I doubt it (just haven't looked in the camera yet).

Only a handful of Mopars out of 325 entries, which is ok. About 250 cars were pre-1960. And almost no Chevy to be seen. This event is one of the few Councours that even allows muscle cars to attend. It's pretty cool to rub elbows with all the Packards/Pierce Arrows/exotics when you have a low-down hunk of Detroit steel. :icon_smile_wink:

The Ironstone Councours has categories for wood boats and campers. Which meant museum quality and worth hundreds of thousands of dollars each. Steve's pics are great, and to see these up close is even more awesome.

Personal note: I had no idea there was calender shoot happening, the pro was waiting for me when I arrived. I was happy to sign a waiver. Afterwards several people told me he is the best photo pro anywhere. I'm honored, what can I say. I'll see the results in a few weeks.

If in your region you have a Concours event you really need to check it out, as well as sign up if they allow American cars post-1960. There is so much history on display that it will blow you away.

I can only add 2 pics, and a story to this thread. The pics are of a 1940 Dodge Pickup that I think sets a new standard for original and survivor. The Dodge is a delivery truck for a hardware store in Murphys, California. The Concours event is held at the Ironstone Winery in Murphys. It still has its first 1940 California yellow and black plates on board, with 2011 registration.

The truck has been owned by the store for 70 years and the truck has never left the town of Murphys. Only local deliveries. For 70 years. Never painted, all original, just kept running. I hope no one ever touches the metal, the rust, the patina, the aura that surrounds this awesome Dodge. :2thumbs:
