2006 charger RT gear shift will not go in to any gear anybody got a clue

parked last night after work and this morning started the car and it would not go into any gear

i almost bought an 05 Magnum because the "transmission was out".  i did a little research and found there is a common problem with the shifter cable or a clip at one of the ends breaking and falling off...but i don't recall which one.  it seemed like and easy fix if that was what was wrong with the car.

I think you need to provide a little more information.

Automatic or manual?

What exactly does it do?
Does it make any kinds of noises?
Does the shifter move but the car doesnt?
Does the shifter seem stuck in one position?

Unless you give us more to go on, its kind of like saying "My engine is making a noise. What's wrong with it?".
