So Far, No Good. How's Your Christmas Weekend Going?

Well, I thought being alone this year with no tree was gonna be bad enough, but this morning my little Beagle was bitten badly by some dog that escaped it's owners backyard. As I type this she is in surgery to fix the puncture. My ex was with her when it happened, and is really upset. Hopefully if all goes well, she will be back home tonight. I guess the only thing good about the whole situation is that the owner of the other dog is paying for everything and feels awful about it. Good thing it wasn't me walking my pup. That other dog may not be around anymore.  :flame:

It's only Friday, so I still have  2 1/2 days to go. I hope everything's going better for you guys.  :-\

Shakey

Sorry to hear that news.  If you were closer to ON I'd offer you to come and spend Christmas with my family.  I don't like the thought of someone being alone on Christmas.

I took today off to prepare for the holidays.  As for my day so far, my Wife went to work for 1/2 day so I have been doing laundry all day, cleaning the house as we have company coming tonight, still have some presents to wrap and need to pack for the weekend as we head out to the In-Laws farm.  I choose the menu for tonight so it will be I that prepares the meal and the table.  All of this with a slight hangover as we were out last night at a friends house.  Lots to do yet as the guests arrive in about 3hrs.

I thought I had it "tough" today.  Hang in there Chris, go see you dog and hold his paw.  He will appreciate it.

All the best over the holidays!  It can only get better.

I'm suffering from a massive hangover.... :icon_smile_dissapprove:

EDIT:

BTW, sorry about your dog.  Meant to post that earlier but Im obviously not functioning very well this morning...

Shakey, thanks for the words. I was at the hospital earlier when it just happened. There's not much we can do now but wait. I'm by myself this year because of work. The family is all up at my brothers house in MA.   The plan was to have Lacie (my dog) at my house for Christmas and to hang out here and post back and forth with myself :icon_smile_tongue:.

Hope you have a great holiday Shakey. Just grab a beer and it will cure that hangover.   :icon_smile_wink:

I fell off a 6' step ladder wednesday nigth and almost broke my wrist.  I was getting some crap down from the rafters in the garage and when i reached over the ladder collapsed and down i went.  I was on the second step from the top, it was a flimsy ladder to start with.  So after x-rays and ridicule from my friends, its only a small crack in one bone, i shouldn't need a cast but this sucks!  my right hand is swollen up to the size of a softball..... :icon_smile_blackeye:

Geez, you guys are getting me paranoid that something's gonna happen to me! :o

Burnt, I'm sorry about your beagle, poor little girl. :'( At least the owner of the other dog isn't being a jerk about it.
Sorry you're gonna be alone too, hopefully next year will work out better for you.

PT, I'm glad that wasn't worse! One of my neighbors fell from his roof a few years ago, while trying to put up the damned lights...broke one arm, 2 ribs & a finger! I finished his lights.
Snow sucks.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Sorry it happed though. I hope your dog is ok after everything is said and done.

And, you won't be here alone either. I'm all alone too for the holidays. We'll have to hang here and figure out how to play cars over this thing and have a few beers ;)

I just burried 10 dead this week. Oh wait, it's my job. Had a very busy week so far, 1 to go tomorrow and then I'll go to the family dinner in the evening. Nothing really special going on.

Sorry to hear about your dog mate.

Today I bought a book about Australian chargers, lost of pictures ;D

Sounds like the dog will be ok, so that's good.

I saw that happen once in front of a former girlfriend's house. A lady was walking her little pooch and a husky came running up out of nowhere and started tearing into the little critter so I ran out and subdued the bigger dog until the lady got away. Somehow during the scuffle I managed to get the husky on its back and had a choke hold on it from above and just pushed its throat hard against the pavement. I was pretty tempted to end that suckers life right then but I let it go.

Chris G.

Well she's home now, but has a 4" tube going thru her :o. She's calm but also very happy to be home. Thanks for all the well wishes.

Well, I've had better.... ironically, since this thread started with your canine's misfortune Chris, I found out a few days ago that one of mine is diabetic.... on top of already being epileptic. He now gets insulin shots 2X a day, and we have to test his sugar level once a day. That consists of following him outside and holding a test strip under his first whiz of the day! So, I can feel your pain. Fortunately, it sounds like your pooch will mend, and the costs will be covered. I'm not going to be that lucky. And to add insult to injury, I've been sick myself for 2 days... started as a bad chest cold, but I think it's developing into bronchitis. So.... Merry Christmas everyone!

Nice looking pup Chris....she'll be OK. Looks like you and Lacie will get to spend a little quality time together this w/e.  :icon_smile_big:

As for me, i'm working a 24hr shift on Christmas day, but i'm not complaining. Looks like we'll be cooking a turkey with all the trimmings for supper.  :drool5:

Chris, i'll see you in Carlysle.....i'll bring the

Merry Christmas everyone.

Sorry to hear of the mishap Chris. But at least she's home and apears to be content. Glad it wasn't worse than it is.
