First, sorry no pictures,

We were in Long Beach, WA this weekend at "the Cruise to the end of the world"-hosted by the Beach Barons. Great show about half Hot Rods and about half muscle cars. There were over 800 cars in the show and probably another 500 in town for the weekend.

All Friday and Saturday nite we cruised up and down  Hiway -101 between Long Beach and Ocean City. Cars roaring up and down the highway people sitting in lawn chairs all along the side of the road and cheering and trying to get you to stop and do a burnout. There are Staters and County Sheriffs everywhere.

In Long beach it is a madhouse at night two miles of solid cars going each way thru town the sidewalks ad streets are busting out with people. People in lawn chairs and cars parked on the side of the road, and 3 Police on foot for each block of the town.  It was wild with people yelling, and lots of unmuffled engines revving constantly. Also every side street has a blue lights flashing with someone pulled over who burned out, mad a "squirrely" move or had too much to drink...it is absolutely a wild scene. Took 20-30 minutes just to get thru town each way.

I had a great time..but after a pass each way each night I had had enough.

There were 4 chargers at the show. A yellow 69, a aqua 68 masquerading as an R/T, but with a G code engine (nice car though), a very nice 440 mag gold and black 73  and mine. In town I saw a General Lee and a nice red orange 69 and a black and silver 70 with a very expensive paint job.

Anyway haven't ever seen so many cars cruising in my life.

Off to bed now... I'm pooped out...

As long as I've lived here, never been to one of the events @ the coast.  Our daughter's soccer team, one of her team mates parents bought a place & said we could use it.

Maybe one of these days.

After Carlisle all these little shows just don't compare.

Mark, did you pay attention to the YouTube username?   :icon_smile_big:

yes, the utube user name was potsmoker....not really my crowd...there were a lot of young locals there and of course all kinds of people raised in the the 1960s.

I will be there this weekend.  My wife is taking the 41 down tomorrow, and i have to wait till after work on friday, but 10-15 of us Mopar Unlimited Seattle guys will be there.  Bob Kropp is driving his Superbird, and i think Dave Peterson is driving his 69 Charger.  I am borrowing my friends 2 houses on 8th St N, right off Pacific, in front of the Fire station, stop by Triple Green and say hi.

Looks like they need to block the street off for the rods like they do at Colby...

Now watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical,
      a liberal, oh fanatical, criminal.
Won't you sign up your name, we'd like to feel you're
acceptable, respectable, oh presentable, a vegetable!

Reminds me of when I used to take my '70 out cruising 82nd and 122nd in Portland back in the mid-80s. Normal traffic would have to bypass those streets back then on Fri-Sat night if they wanted to get somewhere and every time you'd see a "new" car it looked out of place. Before they cracked down on it there used to be so many muscle cars 'cruising the gut' it would take an hour to go 5 miles.

I went a couple times with my first 68!  Broadway was another spot that got closed down a lot by police.

This was a great event again this year...Around 800 cars I think. The weather was very nice...I am still sunburned.

Thanks to the Seattle Mopars Unlimited crowd for making it down!

Thanks to Steve and Carly for their hospitality...it was great to meet you and talk!

The friday night cruise (in town) was packed...but the Sat night was just crazy...after 20 minutes and getting about 6-8 blocks. I just pealed off to the side roads and went in and out of the crowded streets. There must have been a couple mile backup going both ways!

I got pulled over by a (visiting) Mason county Sheriff on Friday. (they had 70 extra cops in town to keep things in order). It was dusk and he didn't like it that I only had my parking lamps on, not my headlights....first time I have ever been pulled over in the Charger in 12 years.....

Anyway...this is an amazing event!

I will try and remember to take pictures next year.

Great meeting you too Mark, Great show on Sat, Dave Peterson won Peoples Choice on Sun with his Pro Touring 69 Charger and will be on the shirts next yr.  Not as many rare cars at the show and around town as the previous yrs.  Sat night cruising was crazy though, i sat through on circuit through town and hung it up, dont know why it was so slow, but i was just wasting gas idling, i wouldnt call it cruising.

I will post pics on PhotoBucket tonight for everyone,
