This is a 68 that was going to be a Dad and me project. Priorities have changed, and we need to sell it. I have seen 68's for sale with values all over the map. Before I post it, and I get pummeled for either being too low or way too high, I thought I'd get some opinions.....

1968
The VIN is XP29G8B244524
Non-matching 440 (Edelbrock manifold and carb, long tube headers, Runs awesome)..... Originally a 383
       (stamping on the block is   J440    11  22  2)
?-matching 727 auto, console floor shift. Has shift kit.
3:23 suregrip......Originally a 276 open

A restoration was started in 99-00. It then sat untouched till now. I have 9-10K in reciepts.
All of the outer body panels were replaced and have no rust.
The floors need attention, 3/4 on driver's and pass side. The trunk floor needs to be done also.
I took it to a body shop and the owner was incredibly impressed with it's condition. He said very little work needed to prep it for paint.
Seats covers, headliner, door panels, dash cover replaced. Carpet was junk from a mouse that had found it's way in.
I put in a new tank, sending unit, straps, etc... as the old one had rusted on the inside from sitting.

Thoughts, opinions, questions, offers???  The car is in NH.
If you are serious about purchase, my e-mail is enarc1@comcast.net

PS:.  If I win the powerball, the car will no longer be for sale!

Try looking at the completed listings on ebay.

When you decide on a price let me know. I'm almost finished restoring my 71 Charger. For the last several years I've been thinking about a Bullit clone, this would be the perfect car since it's not #'s matching. I'd have to sell one of my Charger to make this happen.

I'm going to ask $12,500.

Seems reasonable as I've seen as high as $16K in the same condition and it really does not need that much to put it together.

I'll put it in the "for sale" section as soon as I get a chance.

Seems fair to give members here an opportunity before jumping on ebay and craigslist.....

Didn't you just get this car a couple of weeks ago?  What happened with all the plans you had for it?

This 69 R/T is $15,000  http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,72953.0.html  just for comparison.   :Twocents:

The victim of a crummy economy...... Big plans seemed to evaporate quickly  :'(

Similar to the red one but all the body work on mine has already been done. Very little to get ready for paint!

What size wheel/tire combo are you running on the 68? I like the way it looks.

Just a few things.  I just sold a very solid 68 charger.  This car has won several trophies at local shows and was probably the best driving car in my collection.  It had a #s matching 383 4bl and was repainted in the original QQ1 blue.  I swore it would never go for under 20k, but I sold it for 19K and stored it for the new owner for 6 months free.  I threw in Original Radiator, several Mopar Magazines, paintings of the car, new vaccume kit, and some touch up paint.  This is not the market for sellers :Twocents: Inless the knew owner wants to go back to your cars original green, they need to pull the moter, tape it off and paint it.  Five years ago that car would bring 15k easy.  now, well I would be will interested in seing what you get.  I already miss my 68

:iagree:

The external body work was done and it needs everything else. I'd say start high and you can always go down. However, I'd say $8K-$10K.

Even NADA, which I'm using because they usually come in 25% higher than actual market value, has this car in low retail at $11,000.00
