Interesting and eventful car show experience today....

Me and my dad were up late working on the Duster last night. I went to sleep at 3:30am, woke up at 6:30am.....went straight outside and worked on the Duster to get it finished for a local car show. I was hoping to have a shower but didn't make it that far. So off to the show in my dirty work clothes I went. Lots of fun! Almost there and the car runs out of gas, turns out the fuel gauge decided to start working and got stuck at 1/4 of a tank. So I hitched it down to the gas station, got gas and had to run 8 blocks in the hot sun back towards the car before some cool guy picked me up and took me back to the car. Turns out he was a car guy too. Then the fun part. 1/2 way through the show an old spanish looking guy in a nice '70s Ranchero decides to turn around infront of my car. Backs up right into the front left corner. No damage to my car but it dinged his back bumper. He tells me the shitty back window view of the Ranchero caused it. He was very sorry and gave me his name and licence plate number incase there was any damage. He just tapped it so no hard feelings. Now it got interesting. As he was making his way through the rows of beautiful cars one street over, he drove into a '68 Beaumont. Very little damage to the Beaumont but it destroyed the Ranchero's right fender and damaged the bumper. Cops came and they towed the Ranchero and arrested the guy. Apperentley he was on meds and the hot sun didn't work out too good for him. I felt sorry for him though.

That was SOME car show you were at.  I have a similar story.  I was at a local car show back in June of '95 or '96.  I was the first car in the MoPar class, so I was right at the end of the row.  Any others that came were parked to my left.  Another 3 or 4 cars came in.  Then the fun started.  A really, really old guy came in with his '70 Challenger.  As friends and I were sitting there chatting we hear the loud rev of an engine.  We look over the Challenger's right rear corner is buried into the side of the '75 Charger.  The Challenger's rear end was hopping up and down trying to get traction.  People come running from all directions telling this guy to shut it down.  He shuts his car down, people gather around  .  Eventually they get his car moved.  There was a ton of damage to both cars.  The Challengers quarter, trunk, taillight, taillight trim were all mangled.  The Charger took it right in the door and the quarter.  I know the guy that owned the Charger.  He exchanged info with the old guy and did get his car fixed.  The orange Challenger I never did see again.  The explanation we got was that the accelerator stuck.
