The tire iron is supposed to be through the loop and the spring. Then the spring hooks the jack and gets pulled tight.

Thanks, we will set it up that way.  The tire iron and base (other side of the trunk) are helping flatten out the mat.  It wants to curl up on the ends from being packaged so long.

Doesn't the curve go UP on the front sway bar???

As in...

Good one...I don't know...I'll have to bring that to Josh's attention

jb666

Either that or I have to swap mine

And it's GREAT that you can get your push bar on/off easily. Mine wasn't so easy (was originally a weld-on style bar), so they took the bar, notched it and made it so that it could be easily removed in case the nose needed to be worked on, which it will this winter when the grill/bumper comes off.

Did a quick Google search and it looks like "up" is the most popular but some have it "down"???

Charger-Bodie

Its supposed to be up. This makes it above the k-frame brace.

Yeah, you have to use the narrow style push bar for it to work.  Apparently the narrow style was used in the first few episodes.  Not that I cared about "General Lee" correctness though, I just wanted something that I could easily take off and not mess up any other part of the car (i.e. paint and chrome).

What seat belts did you use for the front buckets? I like those 3-point retractable you have.

Those are the XV Motorsports 3 point set-up.  They are very nice but need a little help to work with the console

Yes, they used the narrow push bar in the start of the series. They change them afew seasons later. They changed them due to the button of the push bar sides (arms) always hitting the front valance panel, and also the top of the push bar would at times fly back and hit the grill "I" piece and bust it. They changed the push bars out to the much wider ones that was welded to the front bumper and to the frame up under the car.

Took the General for its first drive today!  Totally amazing ride and well worth the wait.  Here are a few pictures from the ride:

First you guys were all right and we fixed the swap bar

Heres a pictures when we took it out of the shop

At the gas station to fill the tank

Stopped by my wifes parents bicycle shop since it was close to the restoration shop to show her off for the first time

A few adjustments are needed to wrap up the build which will happen this week.  The following week she goes back to the paint shop to adjust the hood gaps, address a few minor imperfections and get the final polishing/wax.  Then the General Lee graphics can go on....!!!!

The plan is to take her on a highway cruise this week so if everything goes as planned I'll post a video of that ride.

Oh by the way....She drove great, even with the tires smoking (I had to push it just a little)...HAHA

When it comes back from the paint shop with the paint job finished then I'll have the General Lee, 01 and rebel flag decals put on.  As I've mentioned previously, I don't want a full time General Lee so I want to be able to peel them off when I have my fill of YEE HAAAWW.....HAHA

I decided to have the originals totally redone.  You can see pictures on them on another page of the thread.

My 69 Camaro is more pro-touring so I decided to keep the Charger closer to stock for that old school feel.

Bobby41909

The General got its uniform today!

ALMOST DONE NOW....Back window is out.  I got another one that doesn't have those heat temper marks.  Soon I will be driving around town....YEE HAA  LOL
