Man nice car I too can't believe the negs over an 01 and a flag I'd be more worried that you had a chevy where I come from {holdens} you wouldn't pi55 on them if they were on fire  :smilielol:. Friendly banta.

You young friend certainly has a way with cars that car is turning out sweet as.

Would also like to ask the color you painted it, is it the original GL color {which is a chevy color isn't it } or is it from somewhere else.I Love H O I had an R/T E38 we call them big tanks it was factory Hemi Orange but the restorer stuffed it up and mixed the wrong color funny thing was if you shut the lens on the camera 1 "F" stop the color photographed perfect.

Also have a complete classic air kit for a "B" body with non factory air trouble is it's in Australia and I realy would like to sell it as I have decided as the car won't be rushed I'm going to get the factory A/C heater restored because it is a genuine R/T.

Thanks....The color is Big Bad Orange... 70's AMC color and what was used on the General's in the recent Dukes of Hazzard Movie.  Its a really nice color...very vibrant and more orange and brighter then Hemi Orange (based on the test spray outs the painter did for me).

Nice R/T!

How much do you want to the Classic Air A/C system.  I'll check with Josh, he might know someone who wants it.

I really like when the work is clean like you do.
By the way, you didn't choose the tan interior?

Your son is cute in this giant Charger!

I went with black because I really like black interiors in muscle cars and my plan is to make a charger I can convert to an R/T real easy.  One black R/T stripe, a set of Magnum 500's and peel off the stickers and unbolt the push bar...done

R/T stripe and General vinyl go on and come off easy...

Nice color for sure.I'd love to see it up beside the Australian Hemi Orange it is the nicest color I've seen and changes with the light that hits it.

As for the Classic kit I'd love to know shipping charges from here to US as it owes me a small fortune dollar was 63 cents when I ordered it.The kit is for the undercoated R/T in my avitar and will now not be used as I plan to have the original reco'd.

All the best with the car it will be sweet.Oh forgot to say the picture above is a factory sixpack came with twin fillers {see 1 on the rear quarter }  and a 35 gallon tank factory alloy wheels  ,I always wanted to fill her up using two bowsers and get a picture but never did. :smilielol:

Sorry for the upcoming hijack.

How many trailers is that?

There's no such thing as a wrong turn pulling those I suppose?  If it were to happen how long would it take to turn them around?  Or can you even do that?  Do all the trailers have landing gear?

You should start a thread with pix.  I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds it fascinating.

Car looks Great! I have the same rad. what type of paint did you use on the Aluminum? look great painted black.

I just spoke to Josh, after prepping it, he used a light base of POR15 then went over that with a light coat of Rustoleum enamel.  Just enough to hide the aluminum and it looks killer in person.

General Lee or not, I think you're doing some GREAT work there! The Charger looks REALLY nice.
Kudos to you, & congrats on the resto!!  :2thumbs:

Sorry gl for hijack just interested in what you do for a job.

Our trains up too 1697 metres.Think that's about a mile long and the heaviest for me is 10 342 tonne. We can't turn them around easy but where we unload we nearly catch our tail.IE I can see that last wagon when we are nearing completion.

We have lots of configurations.
2xloco's 33 wagons
3xloco's 58 wagons
2xloco's front 50 wagons 2x loco's middle 50 wagons
3xloco's front 50 wagons 2xloco's middle 50 wagons.

Might take you up on the thread start about trains if there's any interest.

Well its the weekend so you can guess what I did...stopped by the shop to check in the General.  Lots of little things going on so it doesn't look like too much.  Wiring the engine, running lines, etc...waiting on parts again (that kills me the most).  Just when I thought we had everything we need...oh crap we need this little part and without it, we can't finish this area....You all know the drill.
Here are some new photo's:

Got the gauge cluster back from dash works for an Amp to Volt meter conversion plus a few other items to bring it up to speed.  Can all goto gether now and go in the car!!!

Had the seats blasted and getting a coat of new paint....hopefully the Legendary covers and foam will be in next week

Under the car is now finished!  We were waiting on the tailpipe tips to come in.

Starting the engine wiring (not done yet, will look nice and pretty when complete) and fuel, A/C, power steering lines etc...

Shifter starting to going in..

Tri-City Chrome did an excellent job on the bumpers, they look like a mirror (sorry for the model, it's all I had..haha).  Glad I went with Josh's recommendation using chrome bumper bolts instead of the stainless (they normally use on these).  Not 100% correct but it matches perfectly.

For anyone that noticed I am wearing a Camaro shirt...sorry to disappoint...my current classic is a 69 Camaro SS

If you look hard enough you can see all the little LED lights behind the new rear lenses.  Can't wait to see what that looks like when light.

Thats all for now.  Hopefully the windshield and rear window go in as planned on Wed.  Also that the postman starts showing up with very needed parts....I want to drive this car already!  :icon_smile_big:

That is looking amazing. :2thumbs:

Thanks!

Well that all depends on when we get the current parts on order and if we'll need anymore.  But my goal is to be drivable by end of February then go back to the paint shop to complete the job (fix a few minor issues and complete the buffing process).  It should only take a few days but you know paint shops, they could have it for a few weeks.  Hopefully I'll get it back in my garage for "General Lee" graphics install by the end of March.  My Rotary puts on a local car show for charity and I really want to 100% ready by then (April 16th)

I just read this entire post. I have to say this...........I back you 1 million% for following your dream, and building a car JUST the way you want. The Nay sayers are losing the perspective that even though they might not approve of your choice, you are doing a perfect restoration, to one of the most classic ICONS of our time. Whether its a GL, or an R/T clone...........there isn't a car nut ANYWHERE that can dispute the level of craftsmanship done to your car.

I bought my charger project on Jan 9th 2011, as my birthday present, I figured it was time. My car is much like yours in the respect that I don't have a #'s matching "super" Charger. I have debated so hard on what color it will be. Much like you, I like the thought of easily removing a few decals, and adding a couple, and Ta Da..........new look!
It doesn't matter if it were a R/T clone, people would look at that vin and sneer. I will build my car, just like you have............JUST THE WAY I WANT.

Now that I've shown my support, I'll step down from the podium. Just remember guys and gals.............the 1969 Charger is one of the most BEAUTIFUL cars EVER made since one of the flintstones carved the first wheel. We shouldn't slam another owner, whether it's an R/T, R/T SE, R/T CLONE, General Lee, or General Lee CLONE. We love them, because they are TIMELESS.

Keep up the AWESOME WORK and be sure to post that first parade video, as well as that Smoke show!!!
Congrats! Jason Edwards

That is just an awesome comment...THANKS!

Congrat's on the birthday present!  Start a thread so we can see and follow your progress.  Although we all go through different levels of restoration due to skill, money and time, it's always interestign to follow and see the end result.  Which on this site is always another cool Charger.
