Ok, so I've had some changes to the fleet (for various reasons) so here's the Cliff Notes version.

I sold my black/white/white 1968 Charger 383 2V auto project to fireguyfire.

I sold my 1999 Ram 3500 diesel.

I sold my turquoise 1968 Charger R/T to DanneP.

I wanted to cut back on my monthly bills so I decided to sell my 2006 Tahoe and get something a bit cheaper with better mileage for the trip to work every day. Since I had already sold the Ram I needed a truck to tow with (and possibly for a winter beater). I found this 1976 W200 with a factory 440, A/C, cruise, and minimal rust. The gas mileage sucks so I'm not sure how great of a tow vehicle it will be but it's really cool (figuratively) - and LOUD with the headers, cherry bombs, and side exhaust!

After I sold my only running Mopar I was a bit bummed but I made up for it by picking up a 1970 Challenger 440 Six Pack 4-speed (clone) from 471_Magnum.

The car is a LOT of fun to drive (handles and rides better than any other old car I've ever owned), it certainly gets attention, and I averaged just under 17 mpg on a couple of legs of my trip to Carlisle. I just swapped the 2.76 gears out for a set of 3.91s so we'll see how bad that kills it. I may very well swap back to 3.23s or 3.55s if I can find a good set at the Nationals.

So there, everyone is up-to-date.

I still have my Sublime 340 Challenger project that I was trying to sell. It will likely have to go now but I haven't really made a plan yet. See below.

Not exactly. I still have two 68 Chargers but both are projects. One is a 4-speed R/T and the other is a 4-speed clone that I wrote about here:
http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,64477.0.html

I also still have my 70 Mach 1 4-speed which needs a little work (but it's still drivable). Sooooo, that makes three drivable vehicles and three projects which is slightly better than where I was but still too much (I think). The garage is pretty full - especially when you consider all the parts that I've collected!

Is that a subliminal hint at the new car I didn't mention? ;) I knew I left out part of the story (probably so I didn't have to deal with the haters). It is somewhat of a sleeper (173 hp, 168 ft/lbs), handles like a go-kart, and saves me almost $400 per month in payments, insurance, and fuel (28-31 mpg average). This way I can justify driving all the big blocks whenever I want.

That was 1 corn field and it wasn't even a mile long. ;) The only other pictures that I have are in my messy garage or at car shows. I think the dark green really made the color stand out.

I didn't know.  :shruggy: Don't really care what anyone's daily driver is.  It's none of my business what anyone spends their hard earned money on.

Kia's are slow. Even with the 6 speed you peak your power band before 5k.
My Lebaron walked all over my buddies =P
I saw the mach 1 and forgave you for that one cause of your dad, but a kia? Cmon...

Old Moparz

I'll defend Troy's Kia even though I poked fun.  :D   Having a car like that allows a lot of us to spend more on other toys that are more important to us. I drove a 4 cyl. Nissan truck for years as my daily driver & would probably still have it if it were not for frame rust. It had over 150,000 miles when I sold it & ran great. My wife's past Civic & Pathfinder, & her current Mitsubishi are all dependable cars that got/get decent MPG. When the time comes to replace the Mitsubishi in the year or so, we may look at the boxy Kia thing the hamsters drive to see if her upright bass fits inside it.

But I won't be posting any pictures of it like Troy did & risk being associated with those stupid rodents.

I bought it to beat to death driving to work (28 miles each way) since I was slowly killing the Tahoe (which was 3 times as expensive). There aren't many "economy cars" that I could stomach spending money on so this was sort of the least offensive. Besides, I wanted 4 wheel discs, ABS, Traction Control, side air bags, A/C, cruise, power windows, power locks, and sunroof which are all apparently very difficult to find while still keeping the price reasonable. It's fun to drive but I'll never be racing it. If I want to go fast I can pick from one of the other cars in the garage.

For what it's worth, that Mach 1 is no slouch - it would walk all over my last Charger R/T. Dad swears it isn't stock. :whistling: I'm pretty sure the yellow Challenger is faster now that the highway gears are out (as long as I can keep the tires from spinning).

The truck is waaaaaay heavier than I expected. It was originally something close to F8. I think it would be cool to paint it that color again some day but it's last on the list for any sort of body work.

69charger2002

man you have made a lot of changes!! that challenger is killer. and your project lineup isn't too shabby either. i drive a lowly neon as a daily driver, we looked at kia's before i got a 2005 neon with 60k miles on it dirt cheap. who cares what your daily is it doesn't make you love classic mopes/chargers any less. Daily transportation with a car that gets good gas mileage and that you don't have to worry about beating on/hurting the value, just makes sense these days.
i live in CHARGERLAND.. visitors welcome. 166 total, 7 still around
