monty, i started a topic awhile back something like "does anyone make a bulge hood in steel" it got quite interesting, alot of the guy who posted here also posted on my one, basically the fiberglass discussion was brought up and off it went! many said to stay away from fiberglass, other guys said it was fine some said showcars were no good, others said they were ok. I learnt (like you have) that there's alot of prep work involved with fiberglass i have 2 bulge hoods both steel, (neither are on my car at the moment) one needs alot of work, the other is pretty good and cost me just 350.00 (still has the original paint and super bee decal on it) both need inserts! bulge hoods...what  headache! now you have your glass hood your commited to get it on your car let us know how it works out good luck  ;D

I also reworked the hood latch spring. The original one was too strong. Got this one from the hardware store. Had to remove the hood hinge springs. The hood is susposed to be stong enough for the springs...not to sure about that. Anybody try a-body springs?

I would REALLY like to know where you got that hood latch spring. What was the name of the hardware store? Are they a nationwide chain? I've been looking for one to fit in that spot, one that's not tapered, and has less tension than the original spring...help?
