Hood is buttoned up and passengers fender needed a bottom put on thats been done. Will have to put up some more pictures. The last panel will be the drivers side fender. Bought it in primer as nos that was stripped and reprimed. Lets just say it was sand blasted to the point of warping so bad they beat in the fender about 1/2 inch to get some strength and bonoed the whole thing. Once it was stripped it wasn't pretty.

Not sure whats going to happen with it. Looked for 2-3 years just to find a fender.

May have to try and use the old nasty original fender and make 1 fender out of the two.

Stay tuned.

So the last piece of metal work was the drivers fender. Was hoping to find another, but ya right good luck finding a good 70 drivers side.

The previous owner blasted both sides and warped the crap out of it, beat it with a ball peen hammer till it had holes. They finished it off with metalux and lots of putty.(keep in mind i bought it as a "reprimed NOS" $600 landed) The weak spots were cut out and new sections put in.

Here she goes

Well AMD messed up again. Put a door skin on the passengers door this week. As you can see the fins on the door scallops are too long and stick out past the door scoop a good 2 inches.

Pretty sure the outer skin was the same on all 68-70s. Compared the skin to the original door and the fin jets out further back than the original. Hello hammer/dolly/putty

The evaluation engineers are idiots at AMD. how difficult can it be with all the tools at their disposal and an original door right in front of you? Rocket science I guess.

Been two years since its been out of the shop. We lost Mom last year due to that deadly C word, wasn't thinking cars at all last year. She is back now the body work has started.

Stevearino

Sorry about your mom. I am glad to see you back to work on this piece. Great work all the way around. :2thumbs:

I like how you did the body work/metal work first & then put it on the Rotisserie. Most people do it backwards & just put on on the rotisserie first. Looks good. LEON.

Thanks guys.

Lets just say i must have got the 1st 70 AMD 1/4 off the roller. The marker light does not fit the hole at all. Bottom line isn't even straight.

Both doors and trunk lid on paint. Few steps closer.
This door had a new amd skin.
