sounds like vapor lock maybe?  what does it do when it dies?  is it quick or does it sort of starve for gas and just sort of pop and gurgle off?

Was going to say the same thing, probably vapor lock... I dislike it. On my '69 I used to have, there were several times where if I were to pop the gas tank lid open (not all the way, just let it sit there unlatched), it helped a lot... When I parked it, I pushed it snapped closed... On my '72 when I replace the fuel lines, I'm gonna replace the return line as well and reuse it, hear it's supposed to help with the vapor lock... Dunno though.

Yeah....I have to go with the coil too.....However....I had an orange box ECU  that caused those exact same results.

it just slowly seems to run out of fuel it seems like you can put your foot in it and try to save it but it still dies.
