I have just about completed my resto and i had a problem with a 2 sp wiper sw.  I found an NOS one and repalced it.  I have a new motor and have jumped out the switch to confirm that the motor will operate.  My problem is it appears to park then not allow any other function from the switch?  Could the motor be defective or..........??? :shruggy:

make sure the wiper motor has a good ground  :yesnod: via the stud / nut & grounding strap on motor

Well I guess the problem was/is the motor(new, NAPA).  The P (park) terminal (dkbl wire) is shorting out when connected to the circuit.  I think that is what took out my original switch.  Burned up the circuit breaker.  Even without turning on the wiper switch, when acc pwr was turned on the amp meter was swinging back and forth to discharge.  Ohmed out the wire and it was fine. I am NOT going to remove the motor (have A/C).  I will just park the wipers manually for now.  Everything else with the wiper circuit works ok.  Thanks for the reply.
