New Dave Snyder Print

This year is the 30th but I can't recall now if there was a best of show awarded at the first one.

I've quietly thought the same about every one of Synder's prints...

I'm sure he's done well financially with these prints, and they seem to be the subject in every Mopar magazine, but I just don't like them.

Granted, I can't draw or paint, but I really don't like that print at all. I don't think I've ever seen one of his that I did like.

I can't either so I am in no way qualified to be a critic.  I absolutely CANNOT do what he does but I've always found his work to be a little cartoonish and out of perspective.

The things that come to mind when I see these types of prints are:

(1) Those stuffed kids attached to grills of cars at car shows.
(2) Coca Cola advertising collections.
(3) Fuzzy rear view mirror dice.
(4) Hawaiian shirts.
(5) Older women with bleached hair and stretch pants.
(6) Stuffed cartoon animals in the driver seat of a car.

Maybe it's just me?

I am innocent of all these offences....  and I'd never buy that print either.   Several cars are out of scale and it just looks crowded.  No thanks.

I was searching for words, but you sir, have nailed it.

I have thought about buying the print below for years, but somehow always walk by because it just doesn't look RIGHT.


Compare the above to the 1960 Lemans piece by Nick Watts, realizing that the subject might not be your cup of tea, look at the drama and realism that's been captured.


Nonetheless, Mr. Snyder has carved out a niche and there are a lot of folks who like what he has to offer.

dana forrester , a local corvette artist does a mopar once in awhile and he will only puts one maybe two cars tops in his work .  I really like his work and try to buy all his mopars and hang them in the lobby of my buisness
.  they are much less cluttered .
